Otherworldly

Posted on October 7, 2024

Vernon left the other morning and texted me this photo.

We’ve been having spectacular sunrises and sunsets because of all the smoke in the air.

The Elk Fire is at 73,000 acres. While it’s not the fire causing our smoke in the air, that’s the Pack Trail Fire by Dubois, it’s the closest. Ranchers have pulled their cattle and elk are running down low escaping the fire. This is the week that held the Atlas Blizzard years ago. It makes for otherworldly photos.

    Looks Martian.

    Too close for comfort.

Where are you on the map? (Hopefully not close enough to be shown.)

Wow! I’ve never seen anything like this in person or in pictures.
Prayers for all the ranchers, animals, and firefighters. Be safe.
