Meeteetse

Posted on February 16, 2025February 16, 2025

Jaxon and Quinlan had basketball games in Meeteetse on Valentine’s Day and Vernon thought we should go, nice weather… special day… and one last chance before “calving season” begins. Meeteetse is similar to Ten Sleep.

A couple of blocks of downtown… small school… but they have the Meeteetse Chocolatier! And since it was Valentine’s Day, of course, we stopped in! His available supply was hit hard with high demand, but never fear, we bought some!

Then on to the basketball games where little sisters may not be actually watching the game…

After the games, we enjoyed the drive home. We couldn’t help it, we had to comment on the darkness.

Between Meeteetse and Worland we met only two vehicles and for most of the 46 miles, we could see maybe four lights in the distance. It was wonderful! Once we hit the main highway by the river, of course that solitude disappeared, only to re-emerge between Worland and Ten Sleep and then Ten Sleep to home.

So, are you a person who would love the “no lights at night”? Or do you take comfort in the lights of civilization?

I’d prefer the “no lights at night” so I can see an abundance of stars
    and feel peaceful.

I’m definitely in the “no lights at night” camp! And moreso since I started doing astrophotography.
