Spectacular

Posted on March 10, 2026March 10, 2026

Out in the badlands, while Vernon worked on the pipeline, I investigated the remains of a homestead cabin.

All the way out here… holy cow. I can’t imagine hauling a wagonload of lumber out here to build this cabin and shed.

It’s not a homestead full of discarded remains… just this old stove. Maybe they didn’t stay long. I must say they had to have loved isolation and quiet. The view is spectacular, though!

The old cabin might be about to the end but that old stove has a lot stories it could tell, starting with the trip from Tennessee and ending in a place with that view.
