This was first posted December 28, 2010. To continue our icy theme this week…   Here is the video from Christmas Day…   To start… the guys chop the ice out of the tank while cows wait for a drink in the background.   The last half of this video is more along the lines…

Hello, Kitty

Posted on December 28, 2021December 28, 2021

I’m getting over my little cold and I felt like getting outside. It’s -4˚ when I awoke, and barely above zero now… but fresh snow has fallen and the stuuupid wind isn’t blowing, so after a few chores, I head out. Tess had told me about some mountain lion tracks she had seen last week,…

Posted on December 27, 2021December 27, 2021

I know I shouldn’t, but I am planning to do a recap, top posts from 2021, you know, that kind of thing… and I’m scrolling through my Facebook feed… when a video shows up of someone moving like 30 head of cattle down a fairly busy road with a police escort. I can’t find it…

Ranch Life in Wyoming Video

Posted on December 26, 2021December 26, 2021

This video covers November 2 through November 8, 2021. We gathered and moved various groups of cattle this week, moving them to lower pastures and sorting them as well. Time was also filled with some molting chickens, trying (and failing) in some prescribed burning, and various scenic views from around the ranch.

Not Here, Kitty Kitty

Posted on December 20, 2021December 20, 2021

“What is this? It’s a dog, right?” Those were the first words Tess texted to me this morning. She was out for her run and spotted them along her road. Sad to say, nope, they aren’t doggie prints, they’re kitty cat prints. They’re baaaaaaack. Well, they’re always here, it’s just with fresh snow on the…
