Questions and Answers: May 2017 Edition

Posted on May 13, 2017May 12, 2017

Sandy G. : Thanks for posting those “old photos”. It made me think of a question to ask you: Did you teach school in the past? Do any of your daughter-in-laws or your daughter teach school? No real education experience here… I always thought I’d be a teacher growing up… but no, my actual degree…

#TBT: Two Cowboys

Posted on May 12, 2017May 11, 2017

Two cowboys pose in front of our bunkhouse… part of which you can see here, as well.  Looks like it doesn’t even have its sod roof yet! No names.  No date.

Bluebell Hill

Posted on May 10, 2017May 9, 2017

Spent all day in town getting a haircut and cruising the greenhouses!  Oh, yeah, and buying a TON of groceries for branding dinner… I think the Q&A session will get pushed to Thursday… or Friday… it’s getting crazy around here and, of course, I’m on duty at the library as well! I found this to…

Hammer Creek

Posted on May 9, 2017May 8, 2017

Lucas drinks out of what I call “Little Hammer Creek”… and, yes, this is much, much bigger than normal!  Here’s to hoping all that snow on the mountain comes off gently and not too fast!

Third Time

Posted on May 8, 2017May 7, 2017

This is the third time in a couple of months I’ve had a cold. Today was shot for me. I managed to sit on the couch and read… and sit on the couch and watch tv… and sit on the couch and wire wrap another pendant… ugh. I’m giving myself some flowers from a trip…

Mahogany Hills Pendant

Posted on May 7, 2017

For those of you called by the colors of the earth, this rectangular agate echoes the mahogany hills and dry prairie grasses of Wyoming.  Infused with seams of chocolate shadows, the stone reflects the land.  Wear this pendant and keep yourself grounded in nature’s beauty. Also included are two matching pierced earrings wrapped with silver…

Big Little Mews

Posted on May 6, 2017May 5, 2017

Six of these little items made their appearance this morning… all grey tigers!  They’ve had multiple visits from small children and others already.  Mom, who really doesn’t even have a name that sticks, is doing well. Yes, I know, I should name my cat.  I’ve tried… really, I have… “Stupid” fit for a while… and…

#TBT: Branding Dinner

Posted on May 5, 2017

Feeding the branding crew has always been a Big Deal.  Everyone is working hard and has quite the appetite.  This branding would have been on the top of the mountain, creating challenges of its own. Heat would be a campfire or what could be brought up in a wrapped pot to keep it as warm…

Girlies

Posted on May 3, 2017May 2, 2017

We worked our yearling heifers today… weighing them, giving them shots and wormer. Hellooooo, girlies! We closely watch the girls weights… I know, I’m glad  my weight isn’t public knowledge… The boys run this show… It’s over with fairly fast for the girls… though it took us most of the day! **** Any questions for…

Rimrock English Shepherds

Posted on May 2, 2017May 2, 2017

I’d like to take you back… the year was 2006, even before I started writing this blog!  This handsome little guy came into my life… and many, many things changed. First of all, I fell deeply in love with my English Shepherd.  I jumped into all things “dog”.  Not that I hadn’t been a dog…
