Yip-ee

Posted on December 23, 2014

I had a list with 20 items on it.  Things To Do Before Christmas. I managed the first three… then Vernon came home and said he was kicking cows out.  Since the day was bright and sunny and NICE, I offered to take my dogs and go along, just because I love to procrastinate as…

Smuck

Posted on December 22, 2014

Well, I’m just about back to normal… thanks for all the well wishes! Unfortunately, I had to go to Worland today… it was the last day I had to get my driver’s license renewed… and Wyoming has made that process such a pain.  I needed less information to get my passport!  So, I had all…

Perfect

Posted on December 21, 2014

Ah.  Maybe.  Maybe.  The end is in sight!  I feel better, but still am short on energy!  Still… I could get up and do short periods of work before I’d sit back down and rest.  I did finish the last of the presents for the grandsons… Now, my mom made matching gifts for my kids…

Hopes

Posted on December 20, 2014

Hot wassail. Honey and cinnamon tea. Zinc. Advil. Thieves oil. Ben Gay. Neti pot. Lots of ice water. Great book (A Wise Man’s Fear) (affiliate link) and warm blanket. A couple tears for the Christmas party I’d been anticipating for weeks (prime rib, dancing, cheesecake, New Fancy Clothes) that I missed tonight because of this…

A Couple

Posted on December 16, 2014

I spent most of the morning taking pics of grandkids with Santa and most of the afternoon cussing my sewing abilities!  I don’t know why I think I can whip up something for the grandsons for Christmas without some high stress levels appearing… sewing just DOES that to me!  Argh! I’ll post that Thursday, maybe…

Bangs Vaccination Day

Posted on December 15, 2014

They predicted 2″ – 4″.  We are laying under a blanket of 9.5″.  With .9″ of moisture.  It looks like Christmas now! Today was Bangs Vaccination Day, did you celebrate???  Well, no, I don’t suppose you did… but this annual inoculation for our yearling heifers took up most of the day.  This morning was spent…

Tree Trimming

Posted on December 14, 2014

Trimming a tree.  It has different meanings, different times of year.  This year, it means both for us… Our huge cottonwoods are getting trimmed back… Branches with cracks, widow makers, limbs over the house, they’re all disappearing. Believe it or not, they had this done some twenty+ years ago… and it’s past time again. Today’s…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
