Smoke

Posted on August 15, 2018August 15, 2018

Ninety three major fires are burning.  If you’re curious as to where, when, and how much is contained, or not… this map is the place to go. Click here. While the majority are far away from Wyoming, it still leaves my view from the mountain looking like this. I’d say it’s just about as bad…

Back to Work

Posted on August 14, 2018

My weekend off was great fun… but it’s high time to get back to work! Vernon wanted help installing some spring boxes on the neighbor’s place… in joint cooperation with them, of course.  I’m not too much help, but Vernon and his excavator do most of the work anyway! If you’re lucky enough to live…

Nowoodstock

Posted on August 13, 2018

Ten Sleep has a little music festival the second week of August called Nowoodstock.  For those who don’t know, Ten Sleep is at the confluence of two creeks, Ten Sleep and the Nowood River.  (It’s not really a river on anyone’s scale except Wyoming’s).  And it is no-wood, not nor-wood, not now-wood… anyway, our music…

Longmire Days Once Again

Posted on August 12, 2018

Jumped in the Jeep and headed to Buffalo, Wyoming for another Longmire Days.  While it’s fun to see Craig Johnson and the actors… it’s become more of a hang-out-and-visit-with-the-friends-I’ve-made kinda thing. Of course, the Occidental Hotel is THE place to people watch… and meet up with friends.   I did go to one Conversation With…

Go Create!

Posted on August 8, 2018

One of the places that sells my wood burned spoons also sells the most wonderful journals.  I’m always a sucker for blank journals… the potential!  I should go take a picture of them… honestly, I’d buy many!  What this lady does is take old books… cut off the spine, and use the covers for the…

Libraries Rock

Posted on August 5, 2018August 5, 2018

We look forward to our Wyoming Library conference every year. This year included Debra Fox, “Finding Your Moxie”. Various sessions on a wide variety of topics… my favorite was the Escape Room/Break Out session.  You have to figure out clues to unlock your box… learning along the way. Then I won an Advanced Reader Copy…

Science Your World

Posted on August 4, 2018

I’m back from our library convention… But before I launch into that… I just have to share the exciting news that Victoria was honored to be chosen as the STEM Secondary Educator of the Year for Wyoming!!  (STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering Math… and Secondary means for middle/high school). I am extremely proud of…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
