Taken

Posted on July 14, 2013

I jumped in with Vernon today… Some of our cows had got mixed in with the neighbor’s… plus they needed salt, mineral, and dust. I know I’ve talked about giving cattle their salt and mineral before… but I may not have mentioned the dust.  Think flea powder for your dog… but this is fly powder…

First Horseride

Posted on July 12, 2013

Ah, man! 11:15 and I just finished my rodeo video!  I enjoyed putting this together!  Had to throw it together with Chris LeDoux’s “Horsepower” song… who else? I really like some of my photos… but you can’t get a good sense of them in this video.  Maybe I should get *less creative* and just post…

Whoa, baaaaaaaby!

Posted on July 11, 2013

Whoa, baaaaaaaby, it was HOT today!  98*! After loading some pairs onto the semis, I hid in my house and rearranged and cleaned and organized…  My basement and tiny air conditioner made the day tolerable!  The cows we’ve been loading on semis are the ones we usually trail to our burned out pasture and then…

Yesterday

Posted on July 9, 2013

The girls rode today, so I was Head Babysitter. So… Here is *yesterday* in photos… Morning light… Resting already… Get her, Lucas! Lucas and Boomer getting them out of the creek… Change of dogs… Dally on duty… Old roses by the homestead… Thirsty horses… Tall grass…

Questions and Answers – July 2013 Edition

Posted on July 8, 2013

Karyn:  Question for you: The profile picture of you and Elsa…she is terribly muddy. Do you have a story to go with that? Still miss her…. Oh, Karyn, I miss her too!  <sniff>  I put that up after she died, kind of my little tribute to her… The photo is from 2008.  I’d had her…

Relatively

Posted on July 7, 2013July 7, 2013

We gathered a pasture and trailed the cows and calves to my house. Sounds easy, and today… it relatively was!         **** Last chance for questions!  Ask away, and, hopefully, I’ll answer them tomorrow!  (If I can stay awake… another saddle time at 5 am…)

Discussion

Posted on July 6, 2013

I keep thinking if it’d rain… I’d take the time to create some movies… but today was gorgeous.  So it was yard and garden work for me!  What a sad song, eh? I *will* take some updated photos of my garden… It’s tooling right along!  I’ve only harvested lettuce and green onions so far… but…
