Wordless Wednesday – Romantic Glow
The sunset creates a romantic glow… ha! in Lucas’ dreams… see yesterday’s post!
Moody Blues
If you’ve ever been around dogs, i.e. bred dogs, you’ll know the “moody blues”. Lucas is that moody dog. The one that lays outside of the girls’ kennel when they are penned. He mopes. I think his lower lip ACTUALLY sticks out in a pout. On occasion he howls. Not a coyote howl… a pitiful……
Photoshop Creativity
Sometimes I wish I could take a class on Photoshop. Some graphic design class that includes step 1, step 2, step 3… I’m not going to blame my age, but I need my steps written out any more. I need notes. Everywhere. Not just grocery lists. What*I*need*to*do*today lists. What Vernon told me to do today….
Lucas’ Paw – Pawrt Two
In February, I posted about Lucas’ paw… and received the most comments to any post I’ve ever written. I tried most of the suggestions… honey… sugar… sugardine… zinc oxide and calamine… other miscellaneous ideas… But Elaine and Sal, two of the commenters, suggested Schreiner’s Herbal Spray. Bogged Down
Left home at 4 am… Returned at 8 pm… Successfully moved stock to lower mountain pasture… Horses, dogs, people tired… Can you read Dally’s expression of exhaustion??? She did very well chasing cows out of bogs today… but her look says it all… Whew… Did I really really want to be a cowdog when I…
A Hot Move
The problem: Cows on the fence… they want to leave for the cooler mountain, but it isn’t time yet. Some dirty cows even are IN the field! Then there are the troublemakers… Lucas and Elsa have success! Lucas makes it to Bruner Draw… and goes looking for a mud puddle… he’s overheating and tired already….
Wordless Wednesday – Working Dogs
Lucas and Elsa show off their working ability.
A Plea for Dana
I was recently contacted by a woman in Moses Lake, Washington. Her husband has been diagnosed with terminal multiple myeloma and they will no longer be able to run cattle or their ranch. She is desperately seeking a new home for Dana. Dana is out of Elsa… but the father is Dubya, both owned at…
