I worked all day in my studio… finishing up my tongue and groove siding.
I much prefer this work to hanging my ceiling!
And I actually did something I’ve been waiting WEEKS to do. After requesting to borrow Vernon’s “jawhorse”… and, after he continually forgot to bring it up from the other place… I went and stole it! I’ve been working all this time with two pitiful plastic sawhorses.
I do believe I’ve mentioned cussing at them before…
Vernon was gifted this Amazing Jawhorse from Victoria and Matt quite a while ago… and instead of stealing it immediately, I figured it belonged in the metal shop when they were working on their Huge Project down there.
But I’d had enough.
Enough of frustration working alone, of cheap plastic sawhorses tipping and folding up and blowing over.
OH, MY! WHY, OH, WHY, DID I WAIT SO LONG TO STEAL MY HUSBAND’S JAWHORSE?
THIS IS THE HELP I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
I could write the rest of this blog in large font… but I won’t.
This is a three legged sawhorse crossed with a “vise”. Three legs actually make for stability, beating those four legged things by far! The vise part comes with a lock/unlock and a foot pedal crank. Lay your board on your unlocked jawhorse, push the edge up against your board, flip to the locked position, stick your foot in the pedal and push to squeeze/clamp your board in position with a ton of force.
Measure and saw away.
It works like a charm.
Honestly. The people at Rockwell have no idea who I am, but I’d write them a fan letter someday… Oh, wait. I just did. Oh, and that cheap plastic sawhorse is just there for looks. It’s not really doing anything.
I’ll highly recommend this jawhorse, and yes, this is an affiliate link to it on Amazon, but if you need an extra hand, or know someone who does… get them one of these!!! I’m SO REGRETTING not using this earlier!
Vernon just might have a hard time getting this back out of my clutches! Girls need jawhorses, too!
Find me here!
That’s quite a tool! Glad it helped your progress along so well.
I’m thinking you might should start your Christmas list EARLY this year…. Jawhorse, Jawhorse, Jawhorse……
I’ve never seen such a thing, but That is Cool!
