I Suppose…

Posted on November 11, 2018

I hate to say it, but I suppose it’s time to put away my rain barrel for the season. If there’s one thing that makes having chickens easier… it’s not having to haul them water every day!  With the smidgen of rain that we get in Wyoming… my rain barrel off the coop roof was…

Order Up!

Posted on November 10, 2018

I’m thrilled to say I *finally* finished my custom order for burned spoons!  Just on the off chance that a recipient who will be getting one of these might read my blog… I’m not showing their names that are burned into the handle, nor the reverse little icon, either. I just finished the hawk tonight,…

Sorting

Posted on November 7, 2018

Now that all of our cattle were home, we needed to do some sorting. We have more work to do with our heifers, so we had to keep them separate. With six of us in the alley, the cows didn’t have a chance! Eartag numbers were called, Brandon and Johnny had collaborated on a list,…

Stormy Ride

Posted on November 6, 2018

After delaying our gather on our Mesa Pasture for two days, we had to do it today, come rain or shine… or snow.  Yesterday, Daniel had pulled the pump from the creek, and the cows would have no water to drink.  That left us no choice. We were bundled up… good thing, too.  The day…

Birthday and Presents

Posted on November 4, 2018

Victoria and family were lucky enough to make it over the mountain to celebrate her birthday.  We were also supposed to move cows, but decided not to due to the weather.  That left plenty of time for cousins to play together… and brothers and sister to tease each other! The girls were happy to help…
