All is Well

Posted on January 3, 2025

Plan for the day: Load heifer calves onto two semis who will take them to Worland to a feedlot for the winter. They’ll be back in the spring… It sounded so simple, I wasn’t sure I would go help. The guys had gathered them yesterday and tucked them safely in the corral for the night….

Changes

Posted on January 2, 2025

I’ve tried to create my top ten list for 2024, but I have had minor issues with my blog, and creating that list, unfortunately, is one of my difficulties. I’ve hired GoDaddy to work on things, but I haven’t heard about details yet. <big sigh> I’ll also recreate my link to Facebook, cure the comment…

Good Idea (not)

Posted on December 30, 2024

It was grey and cloudy and cold today and I decided it was a good day to craft! First I had to reclaim part of my Indian room back from the overflow of Christmas and wrapping paper! Finally settling in, I drew inspiration from a pair of earrings I’d bought for my birthday present. They…

Amazing

Posted on December 29, 2024

I tell him. He’s amazing. No way, no how, could I ever ever ever do this kind of work. He said he’d turn it over to me. That would be a mistake. The engine would never be the same. It is simply amazing.

Around

Posted on December 28, 2024

When Vernon asked if I was going to be around… I was confused. I go to work only two days a week and town on occasion… why wouldn’t I be around? And what for? Turns out, he and Daniel were taking the old side by side with its newly rebuilt engine. If it fell apart,…

Standouts

Posted on December 28, 2024

I had to get the grandkids to model their Christmas presents. All eight received these various Hi-Vis sweatshirts. Of course, three can’t be in the photo here, but here’s the rest of ‘em. Yes, I plan on sewing Reagan’s sleeves up for her… they only had adult sizes… but the coolest thing? They all came…

Throwback Thursday: Tough Going, v.2.0

Posted on December 26, 2024

This was first published December 28, 2014. This post makes me appreciate how easy our winter has been so far! A quiet morning with nothing on the list but cleaning… so when I went to let my chickens out into the 7˚ weather, I decided I’d sneak into my studio.  Minutes later, a fire is…

Some More

Posted on December 23, 2024

What are friends for? My friend stole me away today… and drove me to Buffalo. We needed a few things… not much… but what fun we had. We wandered some stores… bought things we didn’t need… laughed and told stories and joked… Victoria met up with us and joined our “girls day out”. Lunch at…

Tooth Fairy

Posted on December 23, 2024

Even though the days keep getting up near fifty degrees with snow only on the mountain tops, I know that sooner or later, Mother Nature will regain her senses and it’ll be snowy, icy, cold, and nasty. To that end, Vernon cut me some firewood today. A couple hours later, I had five hardworking grandkids…
