#TBT: Kinda Sorta

Posted on May 11, 2018

To switch it up a bit from those classic black and whites of long ago ranching… This #tbt is actually from May 2018’s English Shepherd calendar.  So current, but not… You might just recognize Miss Dally and Daniel.  The photo is two years old. Hope you’re keeping everyone from having fun in heaven, Dally!  You…

Bee Sorry

Posted on May 9, 2018

It’s official. There are no bees that overwintered in my Bee Barn.  I was worried that my new queens wouldn’t make it… and the spring was long and cold. Losing bees is part of beekeeping… and I have to say it’s not the fun part.  Even the local bee business got hit hard this year,…

Never

Posted on May 8, 2018May 7, 2018

”Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting – a wayside sacrament.  Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing.” Ralph Waldo Emerson Any questions for this month’s Q & A?  Post ‘em now!

Helping Out

Posted on May 7, 2018

Vernon and I buzzed up the mountain the other night, just to see what it looked like.  It wasn’t a good choice… I wasn’t dressed warm enough, and the jolting of the side by side made my jaw ache.  I didn’t really enjoy it! On the way down, we noticed a dog.  It was a…

Spoon Break

Posted on May 6, 2018May 5, 2018

While I spent most of my day outside working in my garden and yard… sometimes I need a break.  The dentist ended up pulling my troublesome tooth… and it aches!  I should come in and clean on my house… more than likely, I sit down and work on a spoon or two, and leave the…

Hugelkultur Video

Posted on May 5, 2018

2013.  Seriously.  It was 2013 when I found out about hugelkultur and decided I’d give it a shot!  Everyone wanted me to test drive it, and avoid the work themselves… well, five years later, I think it’s a success… and now I’m five years ahead of “everybody”!  Posting on my iPad doesn’t let me link…

Brave Men And Planes

Posted on May 2, 2018May 1, 2018

Have you ever seen the movie, “Always”?  It stars Richard Dreyfuss, and, honestly, it ranks right up there in my Favorite Movies List.  Hey, it’s also got John Goodman for laughs and Audrey Hepburn for class… you might want to find it some rainy day! The story is about wild land firefighters… the aerial guys…

Pony Time

Posted on May 1, 2018May 1, 2018

Start your day with this little gem… I’m brushing Jackpot.  Remember him?  He’s grown, but not that much.  He’s about 10 months old.  He’s weaned. He leads. He’s still too young to do too much with, but I brush him and pick up his feet, and rub the lead rope all over and around him….

Shoulda Coulda

Posted on April 30, 2018April 29, 2018

Well, it started nice… it shoulda been a great day, it coulda been a beautiful day, so I started working outside and I raked some and mowed some and then couldn’t rake because the wind was stronger than I was!  (Okay, only 45 mph, so just a breeze for most of Wyoming…) I spent the…
