Pairing

Posted on April 15, 2018

Pairing This is how it’s done on the Greet Ranch. We pair momma cows and their babies everywhere we go… If they lose each other, they will return to the last place they saw each other… and if that’s in a different pasture a few miles away, believe me, they will get there!  So, we…

Spring Elk Herd

Posted on April 11, 2018

Once again, I was happy for the long zoom of my little camera!  We stopped to let them pass across the road… https://youtu.be/KvMOk2oxDAk

Not Quite Right

Posted on April 10, 2018

I’m still working four days a week at the library… we are getting very close to the end, but it’s been quite the project! That doesn’t leave me much time to help out on the ranch… but even though I haven’t been around much… I can can sure figure out something here isn’t quite right!…

Finally

Posted on April 9, 2018April 8, 2018

There was part of today that was gorgeous… Vernon and I loaded up and went to check one of our pastures… looking at grass height, fence conditions, and breathing some fresh air! Soon enough, the rain clouds started rolling in, and we started for home. “Wait,” I said.  “Where are those elk in the crack?”…

Red Wall

Posted on April 8, 2018

While most people talk of the red wall by Kaycee, Wyoming… our version isn’t too shabby.

Satisfaction

Posted on April 7, 2018

Ah.  I feel so much better.  Living where I do… 20 miles from a tiny store, and 47 from the closest big grocery store… buying in bulk is what I do!  Running to the store because I craved something different for supper, just isn’t done.  I don’t go to Costco in Billings or Sam’s Club…

#TBT: Tiny House and More

Posted on April 6, 2018

I admit.  While I like seeing the “new” tiny home tv shows… and the builder’s creativity… I always ask myself… Why didn’t they just buy a RV or house trailer or… sheep wagon!? This photo, with two dapper men, a sheep wagon, a spare wagon, team, and riding horse, and perhaps the photographer’s car, pose,…

Easter Fun

Posted on April 4, 2018

Back in the day… I’d lay a trail of candy, which my kids had to follow… at the end would be their Easter baskets.  Then they could go find the eggs!  Well, I decided to do something for the grandkids along those lines.  I came up with a Scavenger Trail.  I handed them a photo…

Sandhill Balance Beam

Posted on April 3, 2018April 2, 2018

It almost looks like these sandhill cranes are walking along the top of my fence… but they’re just on the high field across the draw from my fence.  Good thing I took this pic yesterday… today it’s blizzard conditions… I imagine they’re hiding in some brush tonight for protection from the storm!
