Jewelry Table

Posted on July 1, 2017June 30, 2017

I set up a table at the Ten Sleep Brewery tonight… I did last week, and sold two pieces of jewelry.  Tonight, I sold none… but hey, I had an Indian Taco, so all is well! My display is evolving. (The truck isn’t mine…) But I need to hang the pieces… on something that won’t…

#TBT: Red Dirt In My Soul

Posted on June 30, 2017June 29, 2017

No, it’s not a vintage photo… but, every once in a while, I have to pull this out of the archives… it just means so much to me! The story itself, the centennial ranch party with family and friends, and how sweet both my boys were… (and are!) I just tear up and sigh…  (and…

Crafting

Posted on June 28, 2017June 27, 2017

It was an easy day of weeding and watering the garden and lawn… then we experienced a heckuva windstorm for here… the peak gust was only 48 mph, but it got everyone’s attention.  I heard Laramie had a 90 mph gust, and Worland experienced a microburst, while there’s branches down all over Ten Sleep. I…

A Few More

Posted on June 27, 2017June 26, 2017

A few more pics from yesterday… this time, in black and white. Can you spot the cowboy in this one?  Riding through a field of wildflowers… Ghostly rider cutting through the pines.

Silly Zone

Posted on June 26, 2017June 25, 2017

Remember this post from last year??? Splash Zone. That’s what I entitled it… getting soaking wet while moving our heifers to their mountain pasture. Well, we repeated the move today… without a rain cloud in sight! The girls were ready to GO and thankfully, they went the right way! It was gorgeous up there… And…

Grandkids’ Day

Posted on June 25, 2017

It must have been Grandkids’ Day at the Greet Ranch. Early in the morning, Quinlan gets to try out a neighbor’s “kids’ horse” for the first time. It was an easy ride of a few miles along a road… and to the home place. Then we began to bleed the heifers… gathering a blood sample…

#TBT : Wooly Chaps

Posted on June 23, 2017

There’s just something about those wooly chaps of Fred Greet’s… there are many old photos of visitors and relatives, trying on the wooly chaps and playing at “being a cowboy”.  Here, Fred has roped a visitor in the chaps and cowboy hat.  She also is pictured on horseback at a distance and on the corral…

Late

Posted on June 21, 2017

Long day. We made it home by 6:30, though we did take a long lunch break at 3 pm.  That was particularly nice, since, well, first of all… lunch! and Cold Water.  I had definitely overheated.  But then, afternoon clouds came in and cooled down everyone, steers and people alike.  That made the trail in…

Quick

Posted on June 20, 2017June 19, 2017

Going to post quickly… It’s already 10 pm and I have to wake up at 3:30 am.  We’re saddling at 4:30 and will supposedly be ready by 5 am to trailer out to the badlands pasture and gather our yearling steers. I’m praying for a much better ride than I had a couple of weeks…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
