Inspired

Posted on February 19, 2017February 18, 2017

Bullet journaling is a topic that I shared during my Journaling Class I gave at the library a while back…  basically it’s a great way to keep track of things like goal setting or habits. You can track just about anything… and be organized about it.  It’s a way to accomplish things instead of just…

Trained Eyes

Posted on February 18, 2017February 17, 2017

Trained eyes. We were about to drive down the switchbacks in Ten Sleep canyon.  The sun was going down… I’m admiring the play of warm sunshine on parts of the canyon walls… debating on photo compositions if I could have Vernon stop for a minute.  Then I see… WAYYYYY up on top of the canyon,…

#TBT: Golden Rule Grocer Co.

Posted on February 17, 2017February 16, 2017

I’m researching my family heritage… using different ways to decipher all the information out there besides just using ancestry.com.  I’m presenting a Beginner’s Guide to Genealogy class in a couple of weeks, and figured a few examples of thinking outside the box might come in handy! I know for a fact my great grandfather, William…

Pause

Posted on February 15, 2017February 14, 2017

We paused today to celebrate the life of George Edgar Greet, Vernon’s uncle.  At almost 103 years young, he was an institution around here.  As the preacher said today, “Greets were in this country when they delivered the (red) dirt.”  (I added the “red”.) Although we are saddened at his passing, what better life than…

Greeley Hat Works – #Hatisfaction

Posted on February 14, 2017February 13, 2017

So, Vernon comes home for lunch yesterday and says, “Let’s go get your hat!” “Now?  Like, RIGHT NOW?” “Unless you don’t want to…” Carol knows the weather and roads are nice.  Carol knows calving season will start NEXT WEEK.  Carol knows VERNON DOESN’T GO ANYWHERE during calving season.  Carol is a smart girl. I throw…

Road Trip

Posted on February 13, 2017February 12, 2017

Vernon and I are on our way to Greeley to pick up my custom cowboy hat!  I didn’t accomplish anything but sitting on my rear in the car… I was amazed that while there’s still snow around Ten Sleep, there was NOTHING on the other side of the mountain! Hopefully, pretty pics of me coming…

Ice Jam

Posted on February 12, 2017February 11, 2017

Ice jam should be a blue, delicious, jelly… lightly tasting of cool mint, vanilla, and chocolate.  Spread on a cracker with cream cheese, it would be a delight! Unfortunately, that is *NOT* what ice jam means. An ice jam is when ice is broken out of a river due to warming weather or melted runoff…

Doin’ Her Thing

Posted on February 11, 2017

My journaling class was a success… I think my 12 attendees had a good time. That’s about all we can fit into our little room at tables, so it was perfect! It’s continuing to melt RAPIDLY around here.  Fifty degrees will do that!  Every little depression or draw is now home to a river of…

Questions and Answers – February 2017 Edition

Posted on February 8, 2017February 7, 2017

Steph: I was wondering if you use the same veterinarian for both large and small animals. Yes, we do.  We’ve used The Good Doctor for many, many years… with occasional visits to others as needed, depending on the situation.  Most of the vets around here handle both large and small animals. Irmgard:  Carol, since some…
