Posted on September 7, 2016September 6, 2016

More riding today… and early this morning at 48˚ with a wind blowing… that mountain was definitely feeling like fall!  So when the tire on the horse trailer went flat… I just stayed inside the cab… not much for me to do but stand there and get cold! We’re getting awfully good at this… ah,…

Posted on September 6, 2016September 5, 2016

Random Dog

Posted on September 4, 2016September 4, 2016

Victoria and I debated on who was gonna ride, who was gonna watch her kids… and this morning at 6:20 when she woke me up…(!) I decided *she* was going to ride… and I’d corral her kids. Tonight, as my legs are still sore from yesterday, I’m very glad I didn’t spend another 8 hours…

Lost Eleven

Posted on September 3, 2016September 2, 2016

It’s time to move the yearling heifers to the home place.  We knew when we leased this gorgeous pasture, that it was going to be difficult to gather… too many trees, shrubs, springs, trails, roads… and… we were right! We started off bright and early… and had a flat tire. And we (meaning the boys),…

#TBT: Young Teamster

Posted on September 2, 2016September 1, 2016

Errand

Posted on August 30, 2016August 29, 2016

Sometimes it would be nice to run across town, load up your repaired four wheeler on your pickup and get back home a half an hour later.  Convenience is a Very Nice thing… The hard part for a rancher would be finding where to stash his cattle and fields and tractors in town so that…

First Step

Posted on August 28, 2016August 27, 2016

Lots of things to do today… Victoria and family were here, so there was refereeing the seven grandkids, flying kites with intermittent wind and, well, seven kids under the age of four!… jumping on the old trampoline… filling sippies and cooking and reminding them of manners and… life! I did wander out to watch the…

Girls’ Day… With Boys

Posted on August 27, 2016August 26, 2016

Antiquing with my sister again… We are in search of a big dining table for her… and ended up with a large cabinet she’ll use to sit the tv and media stuff on.  And at 8’4″, just a smidge too long for her pickup bed! Neverfear, we had plenty of rope and blankets for padding……

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
