Posted on May 4, 2012October 18, 2014

Wow. 9:30 and I can’t keep my eyes open. Forgot to upload my newest Vlog.  I answered some questions the other evening after I got home from the library.  The wind was howling outside and I figured it was time you saw me in something other than winter coat and baseball cap. That was the…

Small Improvement

Posted on May 3, 2012April 3, 2015

While today remained overcast, at least the wind wasn’t blowing! I jumped on this project because it’s a No Wind Necessary Project. I painted the little windmill in my front yard. We went from this: Note the rust… and the off white flower pot below it… Sage green legs and a brown flower pot… Some…

Rough Character

Posted on May 1, 2012October 18, 2014

Well, here we are, starting another new month… and I never even made my Q&A Vlog for *last* month!  I think I still have my list of questions around somewhere… and I promise I’ll make a new video post in a few days.  At least now the weather is somewhat cooperative… We did a little…

End of an Era

Posted on April 30, 2012October 23, 2014

The eighteen wheels rolled over the red dirt, hauling its small load to the sale barn. Calves were separated from their mothers temporarily… keeping them safe from being stepped on was better than a few hours of pitiful loneliness. The voices left behind in the empty corral were cleared again… and again. A glance to…

Why, People?

Posted on April 29, 2012October 20, 2014

I just had to share this. I-25 was closed around Cheyenne to lightweight high profile vehicles due to wind gusts of 65+mph. The area this photo was taken in was having gusts of 50+. Other cars were quickly passing this vehicle on the road… each probably praying for safety until they were in the clear….

We Made It

Posted on April 28, 2012October 23, 2014

Yeah. All that about good intentions… I really thought I’d blog last night. From a motel room via email. I had a plan! Then things got all switched around, and instead of staying and spending the night… my boss and I decided to come home. In the rain. On the back road. On the back…

Strange Sight

Posted on April 26, 2012October 20, 2014

I came home from work yesterday to a strange sight. There, in the grass, not far from my chicken tractor, was a shredded black plastic bag. At least, that’s what I thought it was. A few steps towards it, and I questioned my initial reaction. No, not shredded plastic. Feathers. Black feathers. Black Australorp feathers….

Summer Read

Posted on April 24, 2012October 20, 2014

We’ve all turned from cowboys into farmers… the guys getting water going and prepping the fields… me, I’m mowing my lawn, transplanting bushes, staining my gliders, and working on flowerbeds and the garden. In between these…
