Dala or Notdala

Posted on December 5, 2011April 1, 2015

Tonight was the Open House/Silent Auction at the Library. I was in charge of decorating… and true to form… at the last minute, I’ve been trying to finish up some tree decorations for our “Scandinavian” tree. I made dala horses, well, *MY* version of dala horses. They are typically red. Mine are blue. And white….

Forlorn

Posted on December 4, 2011April 1, 2015

Lucas is lost in his own fog… Well, his own breath, at least! I couldn’t keep up on foot with the heifers and guys on 4 wheelers… so my poor boy just watched as they left us behind.  It still amazes me he’d rather stay with me than go work with the guys… especially since…

A Different Perspective

Posted on December 3, 2011April 1, 2015

We retagged our replacement heifers today… making them “official” members of our cow herd.  You know the drill… getting new large tags and new numbers as opposed to their little tags that matched their mommas’ numbers… an age brand (this year it’s a 0)… and a nice new green tattoo. I’ve documented this in the…

Grand Lady

Posted on December 2, 2011April 1, 2015

The guys blew to a bull sale way up in Montana the past two days… and I’m not a fan of spending 12 hours in a pickup… so I managed to entertain myself by decorating my house with no interruptions! I’ve had a wonderful time! Although I did put up a few decorations last year,…

Snowflakes

Posted on November 30, 2011February 3, 2014

It was a crazy day at the library today… getting ready for our Open House and Silent Auction. I had purchased some new ornaments for our tree this year… I think the last ones I bought were 7, 8, 9 years ago?  It’s been a while anyway.  We’ve switched from maroon and gold Victorian to…

Ah, Well…

Posted on November 29, 2011April 1, 2015

Did you miss me yesterday? Most of you seemed to remember we had a trip to Billings planned… which we accomplished.  But that did put us home close to 1 am… and I’m simply not functional at that time of night.  Therefore, no blog.  You figured that out though! Victoria and the boys are doing…

Cheers!

Posted on November 27, 2011April 1, 2015

Here’s another project. The idea is from a Girl Scout friend of mine.  She keeps all the corks from her wine… and actually makes a *cork* board from them.  I had to ask for donations to get enough corks.  Maybe I should up my wine intake! I’ve planned to do this one a long time,…

Let’s Listen

Posted on November 26, 2011April 1, 2015

It seems like this has become a DIY blog of late… But between cookingbakingcleaning and cleaningbakingcooking, I have had time to play with some ideas that have been simmering for a while! Finally… after almost a year of owning a shadowbox… I managed to create a display for the Antlers Quartet… My grandparents’ original records,…

Have a Seat!

Posted on November 25, 2011April 1, 2015

Another project in the past few days was this chair. It’s been sitting here since we moved in… A very boring, simple, plain, little wooden chair. This will be a shock to those who know me, especially my children, but I decided to PAINT the chair!  I hardly ever paint wood! As a side note,…
