Andrew Child

Posted on April 13, 2024

Whoo, what a day! Andrew Child gave his talk at the school… Followed by pie at the library… I wasn’t fast enough to get the counter covered with pie… but it was at one point… plus more! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves…. It was great! We said our goodbyes and thank yous and told him…

That Was Fun

Posted on April 12, 2024

I helped set up for Andrew Child’s visit to the Ten Sleep Library tomorrow then drove to Worland for Craig Johnson’s talk at the library over there…. No surprise… it was fun!

National Library Week

Posted on April 9, 2024

Well, it’s National Library Week and I’m going to take the time to promote the Ten Sleep Library! A few years ago, we had the author Tasha Alexander speak at our Spring Tea. She was friendly, entertaining, outgoing, and the perfect author with her Lady Emily mystery series. Oh, by the way, her husband was…

Throwback Thursday: Lovely Day, v.2.0

Posted on February 15, 2024

I was just talking about this the other day, wondering if I should do it again… or paint on the door… I like painting on our front doors. I did neither. So here it is for Throwback Thursday instead! This was first published February 14, 2014. Love your library! On this Valentine’s Day… I hope…

Craig

Posted on December 10, 2023December 12, 2023

It’s a Christmas tradition… author Craig Johnson comes to the Ten Sleep Library and reads his Christmas themed short story. Not only did we have cookies provided by the Friends of the Ten Sleep Library, we also served a hot cocoa bar. Pick your favorite “topping” to put in your hot chocolate… I didn’t even…

Open House and Silent Auction

Posted on December 4, 2023

Whew. That was fun. Over 130 items. From sourdough bowls/starter/whisk/recipes to tree ornaments, from crystal wine glasses to lap quilts, from aprons to a wooden rocking horse, there was something for everyone. I believe there were over 70 bidders. The cookies and goodies were delicious. It was fun and festive and warm! I think this…

Wonderful Place

Posted on October 15, 2023

Once again, our little community came together in support of our ambulance and library. The Harvest Dinner served over 300 people. The school cafeteria was packed. The Friends of the Library were ready with raffle items and auction items. Thanks to everyone for your support. You make Ten Sleep a wonderful place!

Mercer’s Banditti

Posted on April 29, 2023April 29, 2023

Another great guest speaker to wind up National Library Week! This time it was local historian Clay Gibbons talking about A. S. Mercer’s book, Banditti of the Plains. For those not familiar with western history, Banditti of the Plains was an exposé of the Johnson County War, the large cattlemen versus small that occurred in…

There’s More to the Story

Posted on April 23, 2023

The internet has been kind and given me friends across this nation and allowed me to keep up with others I’ve met in my past. It’s a blessing to have that ability, especially when I think of those pioneer women who left their families behind to travel west, knowing they’d probably never see or maybe…

A Spot of Tea

Posted on April 23, 2023

The Friends of the Ten Sleep Library sponsored guest speaker, Cathy Holman, Prairie Wife In Heels, for our second Spot of Tea event. With desserts by Linda Cooper, we gathered for friendship, laughter and a couple of tears. I had such fun, I came home after our “after party” and fell asleep! Obviously, I can’t…

#TBT: The Titanic Event in Pictures, v.2.0

Posted on April 13, 2023

This was first posted April 14, 2012. I had so much fun doing this event, even if there weren’t an over abundance of attendees. Everyone received their copy of a ticket to the RMS Titanic, randomly giving them the identity of a real passenger. Crossing the gangplank, they read their background and went to the…

I think I’m ready. Peanut butter balls. Crackers and dip. Deviled eggs. Alcohol ink trinket trays, tea cups and saucers (4), coffee mug, salt and pepper. Good enough.

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
