#TBT: May Snow

Posted on June 1, 2018

I recently received some old family photos… and scrolling through them on my computer, it was hard to choose which to share first. I finally decided on this series of three pics taken May 4, 1929.  Now we’re just rolling into June of 2018, so these are 89 years old.  They belonged to Wyoma Pyle,…

Rain

Posted on May 29, 2018

Wyoming has been blessed with rain.  Too much in a few places!  We received .75”.  I know, the fact that Wyomingites count the rain in hundredths of an inch, should tell you something… but it is amazing what 3/4” of rain can do to this country! The rainstorm did hold off for longer than it…

Done

Posted on May 28, 2018

More AI. The horse trailer doubles as an AI shed, holding the big semen tank, water warmer, lube, and long gloves. The boys look over some heifers… paying close attention to the silver/orange stickers and the actions of the girls. The heifers are bred and hauled off to fresh pasture.  Another year done!

AI Again

Posted on May 27, 2018

It’s AI breeding season for our heifers. The boys have been working… and I stopped in to help. We always get the question of “why would you Artificially Inseminate when you could just let a bull cover the girls instead?”  Well, the heifers will be put out with a bull to catch the ones that…

Celebrate

Posted on May 26, 2018

We had to have Daniel’s birthday party to kick off AI Season, Gathering Season, and Prep-for-Branding Season! There’s not a lot of down time from here on out… And … it is Daniel’s 30th birthday … Everyone had to help him celebrate!

Wildflower Season

Posted on May 23, 2018May 22, 2018

Whew.  Totally spaced doing a before and after of my flower beds. Take it from me that they look tremendously better! I guess at some point I can do a “now”… and then a pretty “later” one as all the flowers start to bloom! They probably won’t compare to the way the mountain is looking…

You all know I’m on Instagram… and I enjoy it.  Pretty pictures everywhere.  If you’re interested, you can click on my link on the right and go look, no account required. But, human nature being what it is… I still look at how many people like my photos.  I shouldn’t do that, but I do….
