My company left. I went back to work.  When I arrived home, I drove up the mountain with Vernon to check the water situation. The springs are running good! Back to work this morning.  After work, I spent some time painting this on a local business window to promote the Open House at our new…

Happiness!

Posted on May 11, 2016May 10, 2016

Well, the past two days have been sooooo enjoyable… If you’ve been around FOREVER as one of my readers… you’ll remember I used to share the adventures of my Cousin Robb.  He toured the world, sending AMAZING photos along the way.  He’s traveling through Wyoming and stopped to visit.  Fortunately, my sister and brother and…

Computerese

Posted on May 10, 2016May 10, 2016

You’ll never guess what the nice UPS man brought me today… My newest Canon camera! Yes, I impulsed bought a Canon SX720HS.  It was $50 off… so how could I resist, right?  and those horrid spots inside my other camera with that rough grinding noise while zooming the lens?  It is downhill from here.  It’s…

Rising Water

Posted on May 9, 2016May 8, 2016

Two Canada geese watch the Nowood River as it rises with flood waters.  One is probably on its nest. The southern half of Wyoming has been slammed with rain and snow, flooding in towns, closing the Interstate.  We received only 1/100th of an inch of rain even though much more was predicted.  We’re very grateful…

Half a Mile to Go

Posted on May 7, 2016May 6, 2016

I alternate between cleaning my house and outdoor chores… too often I ignore my house in favor of “playing”, so it’s about time I do more than a swipe and a swish to clean things up!  It *is* SPRING… While cleaning my light fixtures of bugs is rewarding… it’s not very photogenic… it isn’t very…

Wordless Wednesday – “Lazy Boys”

Posted on May 5, 2016May 4, 2016

Ten lazy bull elk bedded down in our field the other day… mid-afternoon and they are simply laying around… double click on the photo to help spot their new growing antlers.

Sounds Like Work

Posted on May 4, 2016May 3, 2016

If you see me tomorrow, and I’m walking a bit slow… it’s because I rototilled on my garden for a bit… then I rode my bike clear to the mailbox at the other place (roundtrip of six miles)… then I came home and mowed my lawn with my little mower.  It’s like pushing a mower…

Bee Check

Posted on May 3, 2016May 2, 2016

Bee check. The new bees have been in the Golden Hive and Beebylon for almost a week now.  They look pretty happy to me… and Mess-opotamia is looking busy as well. Thanks to Sheri, who reminded me of the name of my own hive… There’s a bazillion dandelions now, so they SHOULD Bee Happy! They…

Zentangled Shoes

Posted on May 2, 2016May 1, 2016

I babysat until afternoon then decided to see if it was dry enough to rototill my garden.  It was. Around and around I went, sparing the volunteer lettuce!  The soil looks great under the straw left from my straw bale garden attempt last summer.  I plan to go capture some other rotting straw and till…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
