Cowboy Day

Posted on August 16, 2022

Cowboy Day! Everyone but Quinlan spent a gorgeous day on the mountain gathering cattle. Quinlan chose to spend the day with a friend before school starts tomorrow. Tired cowgirl! It was the perfect day to spend the ”last” day of freedom! It even rained on us at the end! Yay for rain!

Giggle

Posted on August 15, 2022

Well, I may regret this purchase… but right now, it makes me giggle. I love riding bicycles. I’ve been looking at electric bikes. I’m horribly out of shape… and the pedal assist of ebikes really appeals to me. Someone posted a new/used one on Facebook and I called to inquire. Ridden once… comes with extras……

Doggone It!

Posted on August 14, 2022

We had a partial day off… so while we decided to haul salt and mineral to the cows… we also agreed to hike around, look for rocks and arrowheads and buffalo skulls and whatever we could find! In other words, not drive directly to the salt feeders and then rush home to work on something…

Farewell

Posted on August 13, 2022

A little cafe is closing down. I’ve written about it before HERE. Even though I’ve only been here twice, I enjoyed it tremendously, and have had *plans* to come here more often. I did get the owner to cater this library event. The Renaissance Cafe is an hour and a half from my house, so…

Count This

Posted on August 12, 2022

I recently grabbed eight metal folding chairs for free. We’re often looking for extra seating at brandings or other get-togethers. I always look at that dirty tan color and just… bleh… They’re so ugly! I decided to have some fun. With no plan other than to use up my leftover cans of spray paint, I…

#TBT: Shopping in Wyoming, v.2.0

Posted on August 11, 2022

So sorry about the failure to post lately, GoDaddy/Wordpress finally figured out my technical difficulties, and I’m good to go once again… I must just need to pay them more money every two years or so! This was first posted August 11, 2011. I’m guessing here… but the possibility exists that some of you readers…

No Fog Interference

Posted on August 7, 2022August 7, 2022

I didn’t think we’d go. The clouds lowered themselves in a foggy curtsey over the mountaintops. Soft billowing waves of fog drifted down, then up, and down again. I’ve ridden in the clouds… it’s a game of peekaboo with the cows. Sometimes it’s not the most enjoyable of days. The word was given. Horses saddled….

Electricity

Posted on August 6, 2022August 6, 2022

For months, I’ve had no electricity in my studio. We thought the old wiring had given up the ghost, and we were going to need an electrician to figure out the problem. We will be having some visitors staying there during hunting season, so while I might be able to skate by, they would need…

Blanket Chest

Posted on August 5, 2022August 5, 2022

I’ve started woodburning a large blanket chest. This thing is huge and takes up a fair amount of space in my mudroom. It needs to go away… as do most of my crafty things… I’m trying to figure out how to sell items… just as soon as I finish them!

#TBT: One Day, v.2.0

Posted on August 4, 2022August 4, 2022

This was first posted August 2, 2011. We moved the last of our cattle that are down low to our Mesa Pasture early this morning. Dally was my dog of the day… and it wasn’t very long before she was soaking wet from the heavy dew that lay on the grass and in the willows….
