Wonderful/Whew!

Posted on March 8, 2014

We attended Vernon’s uncle’s birthday party this afternoon.  It was Uncle George’s 100th birthday!  That was quite the deal… the governor of Wyoming said so!… and it was lots of fun visiting with everyone. Spring has hit hard here… every little slope, drainage, gully, wash, draw, ravine, and rut has water pouring down it.  Enough…

Ideas. Stop.

Posted on March 6, 2014

It was another busy day at the library… lots of kids for story time and classes from the school… plus all the adults!  It was actually up in the 50˚s today, so many people were brushing off those wintertime blues. Yesterday, my fever started returning for my studio… time to get back to it!  I…

Fabric Stash Forever

Posted on March 4, 2014

When Vernon gets home for the night, I’m a firm believer in sitting down with him, talking about the day, or just being THERE with him.  I could go do different things, but I just try to share the evening, even if he might fall asleep soon! That’s when many of my crafts or projects…

29 More

Posted on March 3, 2014

Guess what? There be cows here! Here. At MY place!  I don’t have to drive 4 miles to get you stinking cute pics of babies!  I can walk out to the barn and voila! OK.  There’s just ONE so far… but 29 more are on the way…

Little Critters

Posted on March 2, 2014

We figure we’re halfway through calving out our heifers.  We, as in The Guys, since I’m not part of the process anymore… I did go down with Vernon tonight after Victoria and the twins left, just to see how things were going on. We always weigh our heifers’ calves… their first input into our record…

Cold Calf on a Cold Day

Posted on March 1, 2014

At first thought, I worried Brandon had run over a dog… then I realized!  He was walking into my house with a newborn calf in his arms!  Movie forgotten, Victoria, I, and the twins descended onto her to warm her up. It was cold outside, the weather has dropped to zero and a few degrees…

Red Black Angus

Posted on February 27, 2014

The newest rage on the Upper Nowood, red mud plaster masks!  Guaranteed to make your eyes stand out!  Scratch that itch!   Be cool! Whatever the reason, many of our heifers had indeed plastered themselves with red mud…  They won’t be doing it again anytime soon, a Big Winter Storm is on the way. Victoria and…

Even Better

Posted on February 25, 2014

I want your sympathy.  It’s -5˚ outside, with the 3″ of new snow on the ground (on top of whatever was there!), and I’ve left my camera in the car!  I had to blast to Worland to give a speech to a group at the Worland Library and finally got home at 9 pm. There’s…
