Horse Adventures

Sheila, thanks for pointing out my great find I wrote about yesterday is a woman’s sewing rocker!  I didn’t know that, and of course, immediately googled it and yup… there it was!  There are some on ebay for those of you who are wishing for one of your own.   Thanks for educating me! It was…

Perfect Fit

Posted on January 30, 2014

On my Cheyenne trip last fall, we hit a few antique stores and flea markets.  I left with a few items, some old timey looking canisters, a turquoise blue pitcher, and this. This was tucked away behind some other furniture and I knew instantly that I wanted it!  The price was $40, and it was…

Wordless Wednesday – “Minding His Manners”

Posted on January 29, 2014January 29, 2014

**** “Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed, and very dear.” Thanks to my sil for this quote… To my mom… I miss you still. Jerri U. Burton, July 9, 1931 – January 29, 2010

Wowza

Posted on January 28, 2014

OK.  I took the morning and finished those two boards!  That wall is done! The boards were workarounds existing crooked boards, so there was a lot of crawling up the ladder, fitting, sketching, crawling down, sawing, sanding, grinding, then going back up and re-fitting. I then spent time sawing up scrap wood so it’d fit…

Artistic Wall

Posted on January 27, 2014

I did it.  97% of the wall is complete!   There are two boards, both of which need lots of fitting and finishing, and when they’re installed, the wall will be finished! (No, not talking trim or window trim or shelves, just WALL!) But this, this opens the door for those shelves that I have in…

Deer Crossing

Posted on January 26, 2014

I spent most of my day either cleaning and picking up my house or sneaking out to work in my studio. I only have the boards above the big window to install! I also bought a truckload of good plastic tubs to keep my crafts in, hopefully they’ll be much more mouse-proof than my cardboard…

Amazing Day

Posted on January 25, 2014

A few months ago, I received a call asking if I might be interested in talking to the Johnson County Cattlewomen at their Ag Summit.  (Yes, I live in Washakie County… this was in Buffalo, Wyoming… a *traveling* speaking engagement!)  I warned them I was more of a public WRITER than SPEAKER, but they wanted…

Can’t Ask for More

Posted on January 23, 2014

So yesterday was spent getting the cows ready for calving season… some vaccine to pass along good antibodies to their calves, a shot of minerals, and a little wormer.  Plus some sorting of the younger cows off from the older.  The 0’s and 1’s, aka the two and three year olds, we keep separate.  They…

Window Wall

Posted on January 21, 2014

Finally, some time spent in my studio! That’s a resolution for this year… finish the studio… and create something out there!  There’s much to be done still… I’ve run out of tongue and groove on my window wall, so it’s whatever I can scrounge. Still no clue on how I’m going to finish around this…
