Cutie Pie

Posted on November 29, 2019November 29, 2019

We had another little celebration for Reagan today. Since the girl is a big fan of the Toy Story movies, it’s not difficult to imagine what the theme for her party was. And, to no one’s surprise, her favorite character is Jessie. You know, cowgirl Jessie? She received a Jessie dress yesterday and she has…

Making Memories

Posted on November 24, 2019November 24, 2019

A day off… kinda. Vernon said he was going to haul hay as long as the ground remained frozen… as it thaws, you start rutting up the road. As it turned out, he managed to haul hay until noon. That gave me time to clean up from yesterday’s big birthday celebration for Victoria’s twin boys….

Pro Photos

Posted on November 5, 2019November 5, 2019

You’d think looking at 430 photos would be boring! Not so with this family! Holy cow! I’ve laughed and giggled and snorted and rolled my eyes! Please note: Victoria and her family prefer not to be on the internet. This doesn’t mean they weren’t included! You’ll just have to come to my house to see…

Daisies

Posted on October 21, 2019October 21, 2019

I’m a lifetime member. I’ve got sashes and badges and pins. For years my blood ran green. So often I identified myself as a Girl Scout member/First Class recipient/camp counselor/troop leader/cookie manager/service unit manager/trainer and almost trainer-of-trainers… Now, I’m just a grandmother to two adorable Daisies…

#TBT: Here They Come… There They Go, v.2.0

Posted on September 26, 2019September 26, 2019

This was first posted September 25, 2008. My sister took this picture for me… I love it.  Here we all are, well, my sister and my husband are both following us with the pickup and horsetrailer… But look!  It’s US!  After a long day of cowboyin’, we ride for the corral, shadowing a puny feeling…

Hard Working Girl

Posted on September 15, 2019September 15, 2019

As I looked through photos from the other day… there was one that stood out. This one that Lorelei took. There’s Lacee, holding the heavy pipe that blocks the gate stop Brandon is holding. I asked Tess about it. She said Lacee did it for the whole time they worked. It was her job. That’s…

This

Posted on September 14, 2019September 14, 2019

It was going to be a “Pony Day”… Four grandkids riding this smallish pasture, so to let their all the parents go along, that left me and my little bitty partner, Reagan, at home. As usual, I miss being in the middle of the action… but sharing the delight of “Patty Cake” has its own…

Swallowing Stones

Posted on August 27, 2019August 27, 2019

We took the time to stop and look into some history. While Vernon had known there was a tiny community in this area once, we didn’t know where certain foundations remained. A relative shared with us where the school house foundation was and, unbelievably, we walked right to it! Great directions, L.! Thanks! You can…

Another Visit

Posted on August 16, 2019August 16, 2019

This time, a cousin from my mom’s side of the family came by for a visit. He stayed at my sister’s house, but, of course, we shared some good meals and fun stories and a short tour of the country. Now, D. is ten years older than me, so as kids, we didn’t hang around…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
