Beeswax and Cotton

Posted on November 26, 2018November 25, 2018

Before I know it, our library fundraiser will sneak up on me… and so I’m trying to work on my silent auction donations. Today’s craft was a mixture of new and old.  Have you ever read books where to waterproof or protect an item, they wrapped it in waxed cloth?  Or think about waxed paper……

Magnet Play

Posted on November 17, 2018

Playing… I’ve seen a lot of Harry Potter wood burned gifts… but, Harry isn’t my style.  Since I’m rewatching, and enjoying Star Trek Enterprise, I thought I’d make myself a set of Star Trek magnets! I wanted to put this on one… from the title theme… But I think I need a bigger magnet!

Order Up!

Posted on November 10, 2018

I’m thrilled to say I *finally* finished my custom order for burned spoons!  Just on the off chance that a recipient who will be getting one of these might read my blog… I’m not showing their names that are burned into the handle, nor the reverse little icon, either. I just finished the hawk tonight,…

Witchy

Posted on October 28, 2018

And her name is… RAVEN! I hope to give her a mascot at some point! She flies in the wind, by the way… and on Halloween I plan on putting some green glow in the dark sticks under her hat! oooooooooooooo…..

Witch Win?

Posted on October 24, 2018October 23, 2018

After fighting wind, blowing leaves, and an unstable little witch… I moved my witch building project into my garage. She’s not finished.  Oh, no… there’s going to be much more to her before I let her fly! She is on duty to dry up her act while I work at the library the next few days!…

Witch Fail

Posted on October 23, 2018

She started off as just a few pieces of trash… I was trying to get just her body shape correct… My sister had bought me a great witch’s broom from Ace Hardware… and I found an old shovel handle to take its place while I experimented.  This looked pretty wonky at this point!  I made…

New Jack

Posted on October 22, 2018

I had a little fun today. This pile of spray foam was made when we had our shop insulated.  To clean their gun, the people emptied the last bit into a pile… and I snagged it, knowing someday I would get creative with it. A few minutes later… He needed something… Though he reminds me…

Paper Folded Pumpkin

Posted on October 15, 2018

I made this for the Harvest Dinner raffle.  It was my first try, and not a very good one… but I now have the process figured out if I ever want to try it again.  It’s amazing what detail some people can accomplish in their book folding!  I’m happy enough with my funny little jack-o-lantern!

Crafting Ideas

Posted on September 9, 2018

This week will be filled with cow work, but before it all starts, I’m trying to get a few things started to donate to the library’s Harvest Dinner Auction.  It’s not until October 13, but that just means it’ll be here before I know it… I’m looking into putting some of my photos onto unique…

Crafty Day

Posted on September 5, 2018

We had all the cousins together… minus Reagan who was napping… and it was time to try my Eco Dyeing! Sent to find leaves to use, it was mass chaos for a bit! Then we laid them on our cotton tshirts. Next we wrapped them tightly for the kids… Then we boiled them an hour…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
