Part Two Q&A

Posted on September 24, 2018September 29, 2018

Well, my video from yesterday was long… but I continued to chat along, making various short movies from my day… so I’m posting them on Facebook and linking back to here.  Sorry to those who don’t like Facebook links.  They morphed from answering your questions to just how and what I’m doing.  Which would be…

Testing Video Link

Posted on September 19, 2018September 18, 2018

So… it’s easy to upload a video to Facebook. I’m trying to see if I can link to it here, so everyone can see it… even those of you who aren’t on Facebook! Well, it looks like the correct link came through, so I will post this short video of some elk through the trees,…

Hugelkultur Video

Posted on May 5, 2018

2013.  Seriously.  It was 2013 when I found out about hugelkultur and decided I’d give it a shot!  Everyone wanted me to test drive it, and avoid the work themselves… well, five years later, I think it’s a success… and now I’m five years ahead of “everybody”!  Posting on my iPad doesn’t let me link…

Pony Time

Posted on May 1, 2018May 1, 2018

Start your day with this little gem… I’m brushing Jackpot.  Remember him?  He’s grown, but not that much.  He’s about 10 months old.  He’s weaned. He leads. He’s still too young to do too much with, but I brush him and pick up his feet, and rub the lead rope all over and around him….

Pairing

Posted on April 15, 2018

Pairing This is how it’s done on the Greet Ranch. We pair momma cows and their babies everywhere we go… If they lose each other, they will return to the last place they saw each other… and if that’s in a different pasture a few miles away, believe me, they will get there!  So, we…

Sage Chickens

Posted on March 24, 2018

One of the signs of spring here in Wyoming, is the strutting of sage chickens.  When we first moved to Wyoming, I remember my dad waking me up before daylight, and driving miles out of Casper to a strutting ground, also called a lek.  As the sky turned, the males appear, puffing out their chest…

A Calf Is Born

Posted on February 27, 2018

This video covers one of heifers, number 660, and the process of having her calf.  We noticed her standing off from the herd, holding her tail out in a kinked position… an almost sure sign that labor pains have started.  We walk her into our calving shed, spreading new straw in a pen.  We would…
