Second Time Lapse

Posted on August 15, 2017August 14, 2017

Second time lapse. I was guessing at the direction and angle… since my GoPro doesn’t have a screen and it wouldn’t talk to my iPad, this is what I managed to capture.  Although it’s not bad, I certainly would have framed it differently if I’d had an idea of what it was filming… More Sky!…

Fail/Fail

Posted on August 14, 2017August 13, 2017

The countdown is continuing for the Total Solar Eclipse… One thing I wanted to do for it was have a time lapse of the landscape.  That meant pulling out my sadly neglected GoPro and trying to figure it out AGAIN.  It gave me nothing but frustration the first few times I’ve tried it, but it…

Gallivanting

Posted on August 13, 2017

While I was off gallivanting with other Wyoming librarians… my family was still working on the ranch… moving cattle this time! It was another exposure for the little boys to help ride and work. I think they loved it! (and I’m sorry I missed it) (photos shamelessly stolen from Megan and Tess)

Off the Ranch

Posted on August 12, 2017August 12, 2017

I’ve spent the past couple of days off the ranch, attending the Wyoming Library Association’s conference in Sheridan.  As usual, it was enjoyable in many ways. We stayed at Sheridan College, one of the seven community colleges in Wyoming.  It has a very beautiful campus and an adorable “neighborhood” of “villas” for student housing.  Each…

#TBT: Old House

Posted on August 11, 2017August 9, 2017

A relative posted this the other day, and at first glance, I assumed it was the old house on our place.  But things don’t work out… the porch is wrong, did the garden go all the way to the creek?… or am I just looking at this all wrong??? Someone help me figure this out! …

Red and Blue Driveway

Posted on August 9, 2017August 8, 2017

It’s not too difficult to see what the guys have been doing lately… It’s all parked in my driveway. The ditcher (for cleaning irrigation ditches), the discbine (for cutting hay), the rake (kind of out of sight, but, duh, used for raking hay), the baler, the flatbed (for hauling and stacking hay).

Barn Tunnel

Posted on August 7, 2017August 6, 2017

Tess and I spent this cool morning working in the barn… While Tess sorted through racks of bridles… I screwed some boards into place. What was an open area now has boards to funnel the bales to the appropriate spot on the floor and keep them from landing in our new walkway. It went from…

Jewel

Posted on August 4, 2017August 3, 2017

Sorry to disappoint you #tbt fans once again, but we have had a very tiny, wonderful, surprise today. Daniel was on his way to check his irrigating as he does every morning… And he noticed one of our new ponies, Jackie, lying alone.  She has been turned out of the corral since the kids’ rodeo….
