Posted on August 12, 2016August 11, 2016

I’m spending the night on the trampoline with two grandsons… and my daughter… so… I’m taking a break right now… they’re yelling for me! You can still post a question for the Q&A though!

Monumental

Posted on August 10, 2016August 9, 2016

Daniel’s early and I’m rushing around looking for my little hand held metal detector… a simple “pinpointer”, it helps find things in small spaces… and I’m in a hurry… and I failed to find it. AAARGH! Ratsratsratsratsrats! We were riding that day in a pasture where for YEARS I’ve wanted to take a metal detector…

PAP Testing

Posted on August 9, 2016August 8, 2016

Wanderers

Posted on August 8, 2016August 7, 2016

Straightening up a mess on the mountain today, our cows decided to wander… my three kids and I rode and Vernon zipped around in the side by side, putting out salt and mineral and fixing fence along the way. Once settled in the new pasture, the cows and calves seemed pretty content… They should… the…

Scenic

Posted on August 7, 2016August 6, 2016

I have three dogs trying to hide under my desk as I type… lightning is flashing through the skies… Praying for rain and no fires… It’s been a busy/challenging week… Today we did some interesting PAP testing of Daniel’s young bulls, but, somehow, I walked off without my camera.  I did use Victoria’s, but now…

Another Day

Posted on August 3, 2016August 2, 2016

Setting a tank on the mountain today… We’re so grateful for tractors that can haul heavy loads so easily… For the creative talents of those who came before us… recycling an Army surplus tank with a tongue and hitch… and yes, wheels on the back end for “easy” moving. A few handy rocks for leveling…

Fountain!

Posted on August 1, 2016

I’m a little late this morning… didn’t feel like fighting my internet connection last night! I spotted a weasel in one of the junk piles around here yesterday morning… but I’m very happy to report all my chickens are still safe as of this morning… plus… look! My very first pullet egg!  They’re so cute! …
