Rhythm

Posted on February 9, 2016February 8, 2016

I worked the book discussion this evening.  Mr. Jack Kerouac, you are not that popular in Ten Sleep! Art Challenge for today is halfway completed… I wanted it to dry and then, simply forgot about it! I painted the front door on the library, Happy Valentine’s Day from The Friends of the Ten Sleep Library!…

Granaries

Posted on February 7, 2016February 8, 2016

With calving season two weeks away, Vernon wanted to go somewhere before the Big Onslaught.  We chose to head to Powell and Cody. There was nothing specific we needed, but we hit one of our favorite farm and ranch stores, test drove a couple of nice vehicles, and ran to Walmart and Dairy Queen! I…

Working at the library doesn’t leave me much room for ranchlife… I did manage another pic for my watercolor Art Challenge… and a great sunrise…

Soldier On

Posted on February 4, 2016February 3, 2016

Day Three of my “Let’s Create” Challenge: Vernon is in bed. I gather my watercolor palette, paper, brushes, and a small container of water.  Sitting on my couch… I choose a photo to paint from my ipad collection.  Today, it’s going to be my rooster, Spot.  He’s actually nice, and photogenic! I’m trying to soften…

Let’s Create!

Posted on February 3, 2016February 2, 2016

A day of snow (yay!) and babysitting… while Jaxon and Lacee took naps, I pulled out my watercolors and postcards and went to work. A gallery in Casper has issued a “one painting a day in February” challenge.  Now, I’m not *really* participating… they’re meeting to share and encourage each other… I’m here.  But, hey,…

Hidden Helper

Posted on February 2, 2016February 1, 2016

After I rescued Dally yesterday… I decided I’d better check on my cat. I teetered to the top of the stacked boards and peered up over the miscellany stored in the rafters of the wood shed. Well, hellllloooooo, Gorgeous!  Golly, you aren’t my cat! I don’t know if it belongs to the neighbors or was…

Adventure Dog

Posted on February 1, 2016January 31, 2016

Every day is a New Adventure. I heard barking.  I whistled.  Lucas looked at me and followed me to the chicken coop, but the girls were AWOL.  I fed and watered the chickens, still hearing barking in the distance. It sounded like they were in the brush patch below Brandon’s house.  Who knows?  Skunk?  Coon? …

Helpful Tip

Posted on January 30, 2016January 30, 2016

When moving cows along a road… should you desire to split them… I have the technique for you to try. First, get your horse herd to stand in the middle of the road.  Now, how you accomplish this is up to you… ours seemed to be well trained at this! It was a standoff! The…

Here’s Your Sign

Posted on January 29, 2016January 28, 2016

Lookie, lookie! Brandon gave me this sign… and we hung it on the kennel door. He cut  it out of steel and gave it little hangers to bend over the wire.  Originally, I think we planned for a portable kennel door, but since it doesn’t get used much, if at all… we put it here….
