Snowstorm Calf

Posted on April 9, 2013

8 inches… Which is better than many parts of Wyoming that did receive the predicted foot of snow.  The 60 and 70 mph winds did hit the southern section of the state, and the usual windy spots had their snow blown into impressive drifts as well. Good thing our carpenter listened to the weather reports…

Not Overly Pleasant

Posted on April 8, 2013

Winter just HAD to rattle our cage one more time… I spent the day at work watching it snow, and while it was barely sticking to the ground in Ten Sleep, I arrived home to this. Five inches of the ol’ white stuff. It’s continued to snow, and predictions are for almost a foot by…

We ran up to Powell today… getting caught in scattered rainshowers!   We’re still about the greenest place around, so everyone was happy to see a smidge of moisture. The next two days, Winter is supposed to reappear… That’ll slow our spring work, but we will be grateful for the moisture when it warms back up…

A Grand Adventure

Posted on April 6, 2013

You should have seen it. Three little boys, ball caps listing in various directions, being pulled on a sled around and around the garage by Vernon.  Snow?  They didn’t need any stinking snow!  It fact, it was a rather marvelous day! Giggles abounded. We couldn’t help ourselves!  We adults couldn’t stand the cuteness of the…

In the Lee

Posted on April 5, 2013

We chose to go picnicking last night.  We thought we’d shoot for the burn on the Mesa Pasture… see how it was greening up… but 3/4 of the way there, it was WAY TOO MUDDY.  And just when we had spotted some elk! Mud is good for the Mesa, but bad for picnicking.  It *is*…

Decisions. Decisions.

Posted on April 4, 2013

Decisions, decisions. New tin roof colors… what to get? My first choice was mottled brown… from a distance it looks like asphalt shingles… not tin!  But, of course, it’s more expensive, and not on the “allowed” list of colors. They had a wonderful sage green, soft, and one of my personal favorites for clothing (if…

Makeover

Posted on April 2, 2013

Well, you can’t really tell too much right now, but my house is getting a makeover.  The ranch has decided to add fascia, soffit, and a new tin roof to my house!  Yippee! As you can tell, the roof has seen better days… and it’s never had either fascia or soffit… so it’s a new…

Do Something!

Posted on April 1, 2013

Wow.  What a nice day around here!  I worked on my studio, this time doing some chinking.  It’s finally warm enough, and it needs to be done before my cement floors get done.  It’s amazing how much chinking goop I manage to drop! I wanted to incorporate some colored glass into the chinking, the idea…
