Question and Answer January 2012 VLOG!

Posted on January 10, 2012April 3, 2015

I’ve made it a habit (December 2011 not included!) to post a Question and Answer session at the beginning of each month. I’ve done that for about 2 years. Never have I done this. Tonight I answer your questions IN PERSON. Yup. A true VLOG ENTRY.  <gasp!> Not a Minute Movie or working dog movie,…

Vintage Grand Lady

Posted on January 9, 2012April 3, 2015

Remember the Grand Lady? How she made the trip from the root cellar to my house… perhaps reclaiming a corner she once knew? And I put her in a fancy dress and touched up her makeup… and surrounded her with glitter? Well… she enjoyed the holidays… but it was time to get back to reality….

Posted on January 8, 2012April 3, 2015

Yeah. I did it. I’ve been wanting to do this… for my anniversary present… and tonight I actually pushed the button! What do you think? It’s kind of scary… leaving my old format behind, but soon I’ll have been doing this for FIVE, yes, FIVE YEARS! It was time for some fresh paint! There’s some…

Changes

Posted on January 7, 2012April 3, 2015

Well, it’s quiet here. No pack ‘n’ play in front of the door… No bouncy chair in the corner… No baby bottles on the counter… No warm little one to snuggle with… They’ve headed back to Laramie… and it is amazing how quickly we settled into the routine of having three more people in this…

Wrap and a Hooey

Posted on January 6, 2012April 3, 2015

I had porkchops and cream of mushroom soup in the crockpot, the last of my home made frozen corn defrosting, a big salad made and chilling in the fridge, and baked potatoes wrapped and waiting for Megan to throw them in the oven at 11. I was off to help with the bangs vaccinating. The…

Christening and Contest Winners

Posted on January 5, 2012April 3, 2015

We weighed our heifer calves today, and since the day was so warm, I had a helper for a few hours in the afternoon. Yeah… forget me (bad photo)  but look closer! What a cutie! This is the cutest outfit to weigh calves in, I think I’ve ever seen! PLUS… He was cowboy christened today……

Wordless Wednesday – “Friends”

Posted on January 4, 2012April 3, 2015

For my not quite so Wordless Wednesday… a poem! **** On a dark Wyoming hill sits a pump jack all alone. Red lights shimmer upon it and give a sense of home To a tiny deer perched high upon its glowing back. An unlikely team of spirits in the deep and endless black. Together they…

This Setting

Posted on January 2, 2012April 3, 2015

Wow. I kept thinking today was Tuesday. Somehow, only half of the Christmas ornaments are off of the tree. My house is still a wreck…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
