Centennial Traffic

Posted on July 28, 2009January 1, 2015

Ranch “outfits”… definition: motorized transportation/work vehicles Four wheelers… Motorcycles… Pickup trucks… “Town” cars… Sometimes we are accused of having too many around here… Each kid has their car… We have 3 pickups… A truck… 3 four wheelers… Two motorcycles… My Durango… Johnny’s car… But NEVER. NEVER. Has this ranch seen this many cars at once!…

Centennial Song

Posted on July 27, 2009March 25, 2015

One of THE best things from our Centennial Celebration was this song, written and sung by our friend Joe Bain from Crowheart, Wyoming. We’ve known Joe a loooong time, and were thrilled with this composition! One Hundred Years Ago ©2009, Joe Bain Greet Ranch Centennial Song from Carol Greet on Vimeo. By the Nowood River…

Centennial Celebration

Posted on July 26, 2009March 25, 2015

Over 100 relatives… Fed over 300 family and friends… Launched my book Red Dirt in My Soul… Talked and talked… Hugged and hugged again… Took very few pictures unfortunately… Relying on others for that… Legs are tired… Left my camera in a car over there… So no photos tonight… Need to put my feet up…

P.’s Parable

Posted on July 24, 2009January 1, 2015

P. participated in the Kids’ Rodeo last weekend. Though she doesn’t have a horse of her own, she has access to horses through relatives. It takes a little effort to prepare and ride in the rodeo… and P. did well. P. is being raised by her aunt and uncle… they have really stepped up and…

Kids’ Rodeo Complete

Posted on July 23, 2009January 1, 2015

I need to finish up my kids’ rodeo pictures… So tonight, here are both of the highlights… You lucky readers, you! First, the shirt-tail button race. (First, please notice the frozen ears on this horse… or the lack of ears on this horse because he was born on a cold and windy morning… whatever…) The…

Mountain Trail

Posted on July 21, 2009January 1, 2015

I need to put off my other Kids’ Rodeo pictures for a bit and share the ones from yesterday. My sister was official photographer… The focus (pun intended) of her pictures is a bit different from mine… First, she takes more photos of people… (Like me visiting with my mother as we take a break)…

Bogged Down

Posted on July 20, 2009January 1, 2015

Left home at 4 am… Returned at 8 pm… Successfully moved stock to lower mountain pasture… Horses, dogs, people tired… Can you read Dally’s expression of exhaustion??? She did very well chasing cows out of bogs today… but her look says it all… Whew… Did I really really want to be a cowdog when I…

Many Faces of Kids’ Rodeo

Posted on July 19, 2009January 1, 2015

While I should be cleaning my house… I have company coming… I figured I better get this posted or it wouldn’t happen later! Kids’ Rodeo… synonymous with hottestdayinJuly/slowerthanmolasses/cuterthancute/whyinthe’elldowedothis? But boy! you end up with some cutie photos! Typical Grand Entry Posting of the Colors… until you notice the Wyoming flag bearer is kinda dressed “funny”……
