Mural Art

Posted on August 2, 2022August 2, 2022

Remember my Ledger Art Class? I wrote about it multiple times… and until tonight, I thought I had made a video about it. I really, really thought I had… anyway, here’s a link… and here… Our teacher was Robert Martinez, an amazing artist. Well, I took Johnny to Riverton, Wyoming today for an eye appointment…

Something Different

Posted on July 30, 2022July 30, 2022

Something very different today… I was going to go back over to the Washakie County Fair to see Jaxon sell his steer. I’ve never attended a sale, always thinking that I couldn’t compete with the local businesses that buy the animals. That was still true. Jaxon’s steer sold well… but I sure didn’t bid on…

Gates

Posted on July 26, 2022July 26, 2022

Cowboy Courtesy says as a bunch of you are riding along, the guy on the fastest walking horse, and, therefore, the first to reach a gate, opens it. Now Panama is a slow walking horse and I usually was trailing behind… which was fine, it gave me opportunity to take pics, or I was behind…

Princess

Posted on July 25, 2022July 25, 2022

Ran over to Worland to see Lacee crowned as the Washakie County Fair Junior Princess. She has a lot more confidence than I did when I was eight! They even asked her questions on stage and her answers were more than just ”world peace”. (anyone get that movie reference?) I’ll include her video in a…

Hike

Posted on July 24, 2022July 24, 2022

We went for a hike today, looking for a spring. Vernon had been to it years ago and we thought it’d be easy enough to find. There was an old road that would take us close to it. Trouble was, not much of the road was passable! Too many downed trees and new growth… it…

National Day of the American Cowboy. Most people don’t know the difference between a cowboy and a rancher and that’s ok. We’re still out here, backs bent, head down, teeth gritted, meeting whatever comes our way. We’re part of that 1.5% of the population feeding 330 million three meals a day. Sometimes it seems like…

Springtime Ranching Video

Posted on July 22, 2022July 22, 2022

With the recent heat, it’s nice to watch the snow in this video from April 1 – 16! The False Spring continues and I burn a little extra weed patch along my garden fence. I put some grandkids to work, digging, cleaning, and dehydrating what carrots I have left over from winter. My husband works…
