Storm’s Coming… and a New Year, Too

Posted on December 31, 2018December 31, 2018

While the guys take care of the livestock, all I have to do is check on the chickens… Some fodder, some water, and some grains and scraps to peck at, what more can a chicken want? Well, since the high is supposed to be only 7˚, with wind chill of below zero… maybe… a heat…

Lost

Posted on December 30, 2018December 30, 2018

Chaos

Posted on December 29, 2018December 29, 2018

When eight grandchildren, three or so dogs, and nine adults come to visit… my mudroom quickly becomes chaos. When I took this photo, I honestly didn’t notice the Coors Light box in the center of the room… and maybe that says something! I hope your holidays continue to be frantic, chaotic, and messy… because life…

#TBT : High Waters

Posted on December 28, 2018December 27, 2018

My sister shared this with me today… Who’s that little cowgirl with THE MOST AWESOME RED COWBOY HAT? Hey, I like hats… but I must say, I prefer my custom hat from Greeley Hat Works MUCH BETTER than that red classic! We’re standing in front of my dad’s boat, the “Charlie Brown”.  “Charlie” for my…

Moving Guys

Posted on December 24, 2018

It was time to move the bulls up to where they can be fed easily… and, luckily for *my* guys, they were easy to find and get out on the highway for their three mile hike.  Hence the use of four wheelers.  Should the bulls have been troublesome, it would have entailed finding the horses…

Final Scale

Posted on December 22, 2018

Everyone did a great job on the scale house, but it was Brandon that did the majority of the work.  It looks fantastic! The little window is mainly to let light in… and maybe some heat.  It gets very cold in that little place! There’s also a new window in front of the scale… We…

#TBT: 2008 Solstice

Posted on December 21, 2018

Looking back after our recent 40˚-50˚ days… to 2008.  It was -30˚ that day… yes, I typed *minus*. Eighty degrees difference!  I much prefer these, and though we have snow on the ground, it doesn’t seem very Christmas-y. Here’s the link to that day… and check out the next day’s as well… young Dally at…
