Extremes

Posted on December 17, 2016

It was a day of extremes… we have bad weather like much of the nation, it was cold, but not horrid, we have snow, but not a lot.  The roads weren’t great, but passable.  It was something else. I attended a funeral of a Girl Scout boss and inspiration… wearing my pins and scarf to…

Cool

Posted on December 14, 2016December 13, 2016

The wood box is filled. I have everything I need… wool slippers, wool blankets… down blankets… I imagine I will be warm!  I hope you all stay warm out there! The coldest it’s been here lately was -16˚ a few days ago, far from the coldest I’ve seen it.  It’s 10˚ now and falling with…

Occasion

Posted on December 13, 2016December 12, 2016

Good Thing

Posted on December 12, 2016December 12, 2016

I decided to go out with Vernon and Daniel and check the water in the badlands.  The cows are out there right now, and all of their water tanks must be freed of ice.  All owners that have cattle out there rotate this job, so it makes the work load easier. There also has been…

Someday

Posted on December 11, 2016December 10, 2016

I hate it when I do this… I cannot find my camera ANYWHERE.  How can I DO this?????  Ugh. Pulled out an old one… I’m disgusted at the amount of dust on the interior of the lens… so I didn’t take any photos. The guys worked on a water line… always fun when it’s in…

Online

Posted on December 10, 2016December 9, 2016

We’ve been enduring cold weather here… -16˚ at its worst.  The temperatures that make the snow squeak, chickens stay in their coops, and my dogs lay in the snow comfortably.  I know.  My dogs just LOVE the cold weather!  Strange creatures. My internet has been out since yesterday.  I started and restarted, unplugged and plugged,…

Make Your Own Marshmallows

Posted on December 7, 2016December 6, 2016

I know, I know, this isn’t a cooking blog… but I made these, and people seem to *really* like them… so I’m gonna share! Making your own marshmallows is EASY. First: sift together 1/4 C powdered sugar and 1/4 C corn starch.  This is your “dust”… it keeps your marshmallows from sticking EVERYWHERE.  This was…

Copper Fun

Posted on December 5, 2016December 4, 2016

I ignored my house in order to finish up some copper jewelry for the library auction.  I always have such high hopes of getting so many things made for the auction… This was all I accomplished today. Plus I tried to make some marshmallows… and I think I’ll try again in the morning! It’ll all…
