Ideas

Posted on August 26, 2016August 25, 2016

School has begun, and I started back at the library again, 8-5 … two days a week. You’re welcome to follow the Ten Sleep Branch Library on Facebook if you’re already on there following Red Dirt! I’m highly tempted to make it another Wordless “Wednesday”, or would you prefer a “Throwback Thursday” where I share…

For Us

Posted on August 23, 2016August 22, 2016

A half day trip to Cody with Vernon and Johnny… with lunch bought for us by Johnny, since today is our 35th anniversary! We ran into relatives… and searched for the wild horses, but didn’t find them… and came home and went back to work. No pics. No stories. A day just for us!

Megan’s Gift

Posted on August 22, 2016August 21, 2016

With Megan and presents, you’ll have pretty good luck if it has something to do with the Beatles/1960’s or the Wizard of Oz… Sorry, Dorothy… I went with “Peace, Love, and Rock ‘n’ Roll”, oh, and a little hippy VW bug!

Perfect Night

Posted on August 21, 2016August 20, 2016

The guys headed up the mountain to work on that pipeline from a while back… they’ve found the pipeline but had to hook it up to the tank and do some various improvements. Believe it or not, I didn’t tag along.  This would normally be a perfect chance for me… I like going along and…

Rainy Day

Posted on August 20, 2016August 19, 2016

More rain.  Not much, .36″, but we will take what we can get… I spent this cool day catching up on laundry and finishing my first braided rein of my new set.  I’m trying to decide if I will simply burn the ends off of my Terminal Turk’s Head knot, a style I don’t like……

New Buckets

Posted on August 19, 2016August 18, 2016

It tried and tried and the clouds went north and the clouds went south, and FINALLY this afternoon it actually RAINED.  I had thrown all my bedding from the trampoline inside and found a more or less indoor job… made a meatloaf for supper… posted on Facebook because… RAIN! And… It stopped. .03″ of an…

Extras

Posted on August 17, 2016August 16, 2016

Besides running around with the cows… the guys have been thrashing our oats.  I didn’t get pics of that, but we are baling the straw… And yes, we do know the old swather did a rotten job of cutting… Daniel’s been getting the pivot field ready for farming… but that’ll be another post. Me? A…

Questions and Answers – August 2016 Edition

Posted on August 16, 2016August 15, 2016

Marilyn:  How do you find buried pipeline? You must have some new device to do that? The device is called a shovel… a thing that doesn’t necessarily like to work on very hot days… 😉 Carole:  I know you have lots and lots of acreage as do most ranches out there, so how far do…
