Mighty Comfortable

Posted on June 30, 2014

On rare occasions, I get to play like a Real Photographer… except I don’t have fancy backdrops, or extra lighting, or unique props. All I do is take enough photos that luck helps me out… and I get a few good ones. Welcome, Lacee, you’re a joy to all your family!     And, my…

Pay Day

Posted on June 29, 2014

Well, we loaded our steers on semis this morning and sent them on their way! Taking it slow and steady… no need to rush them, this is what we’ve been working for since they were born… the guys bring them to the corral.  Here we will run them across the scales, weighing them in bunches…

I’m Sharing

Posted on June 28, 2014June 28, 2014

I’d like to beg your forgiveness and brag for a bit.  We’re a little puffed up here… we try NOT to be… but this happened the other night. Vernon religiously watches something called the National Feeder Cattle Review put out by the USDA.  It’s like watching the stockmarket for other businessmen.  It’s a little video…

Stockpile

Posted on June 27, 2014

Cool and rainy and a week later… it was time to check on my bees! My Golden Hive has slowed down for the most part, although they’ve started replacing comb from the one I stole with the queen cells.  There seems to be more drones and remember the comb with the two queen cells on…

Hold Them

Posted on June 26, 2014

I spent most of this hot and muggy day in the chicken coop.  I remember, when I temporarily turned it into the Puppy Coop, that I stated “I will always have more puppies than chickens!”  Yeah, well… I repaired the front wired door, replacing chicken wire with some heavier duty rabbit wire… That took SOOOO…

Past and Future

Posted on June 24, 2014

I think I did it.  I believe all my posts are now on here including photos! I found some that didn’t have the pictures for whatever reason, and corrected them.  I guess I’ll call it good and leave it alone. Oh, I know there’s weird formatting and varying sizes of font, but it’s just the…

Learning Adventure

Posted on June 23, 2014

Before I left for the Garden Walk, I knew I needed to check on my bees.  Thursday was a cool morning… perfect! I was going to check my Golden Hive, as last time, Mesopotamia had the check up.  Slow and steady, I pried each bar from the other, still amazed at the efficiency of propolis…

Jerri Burton Memorial Garden Walk 2014

Posted on June 22, 2014

Well, I escaped the ranch for the past two days… attending the Jerri Burton Memorial Garden Walk in Casper.  I haven’t made it the past two years, and I just made the statement I was attending this year!  Something will always come up on a ranch, you can guarantee that, so I just walked away! …
