At 60 MPH

Posted on February 18, 2014

Picture yourself zipping down the highway and you glance at a neighbor’s corrals. There he is again!  Standing on top of the fence!  Boy, that horse has great balance! Well… maybe not. But you can see how, at 60 mph, that first glance makes you do a double take!

Posted on February 18, 2014

Ten Sleep is having a baby boom.  Twelve, well, I think it’s twelve, people from Ten Sleep are having babies!  Some live other places now, but we count them just the same!  Additionally, some people know what their little bundles of joy are… and for the first time in a while, we have girls!  Seems…

Bee Adventurous IV

Posted on February 16, 2014

It was a warm day… it actually rained for a bit… rain on snow means mush everywhere and ice when it cools down again.  I pursued some indoor projects… My Indian room has needed curtains since I moved in.  I’ve repurposed the original lined draperies into a bedskirt and today I made a pillow case…

Good Things

Posted on February 15, 2014November 28, 2014

My, oh, my!  I’ve a couple of videos for you… but I didn’t come in here soon enough to accomplish that!  After fussing and researching, I decided, once the sun was out and it was a balmy 45˚, to go ahead and break into my new hive and see the conditions. I had worried that…

Bee Adventurous Again

Posted on February 14, 2014

My first bee sting.  She didn’t get me very good, so it wasn’t much… and, yes, I deserved it. Don’t Put Your Fingers Where You Can’t See, one of the cardinal rules of beekeeping… oops. Let me tell you the story of this Bee Attempt. I saw on craigslist a successful top bar hive was…

Knock on Wood

Posted on February 11, 2014

We didn’t get back home until after dark.  While the morning started cold, below zero in various spots as we drove along for 3 hours, by the time we arrived in Riverton, the day had finally warmed up, and it actually was 41˚. 41˚!  Wow. Somehow that camera of mine forgot to get out of…

Patience

Posted on February 10, 2014

In preparation for tomorrow… I turned this: Into this: Which took some prying because I hadn’t realized the tires were frozen to the ground inside the shed!  Then I also realized, the door was frozen down and couldn’t be opened any wider.  Well, THAT sure wasn’t going to work. This will have to: But, you…

Wildlife Meditation

Posted on February 9, 2014

Well, football’s over… Vernon was gone snowmobiling… I’d cleaned and crafted and was ready for *something different* for my Sunday afternoon. aha! Grabbed cameras and dogs and we went for a drive. What? What’s that? Oh, yes, those pesky elk that have been hanging on the highway…  Highly dangerous, especially at night, this herd has…

Posted on February 8, 2014

It’s snowing again… another four or five inches and more coming down… at least it’s warmer!  Let’s do this! Marilyn: Going back to my question of a couple days ago, I am wondering what kinds of gear is “standard” when you are spending a whole day “in the saddle” – thanks! Hmmm.  A little variation…
