It was 1969…

Posted on September 17, 2009March 25, 2015

So… yesterday’s entry was partially true… the truck…

Sale Barn

Posted on September 15, 2009January 5, 2015

I have an assignment for you… Go online (or do it the old fashioned way) and look in your phone book and see if you have any livestock auctions around you. You might be surprised. Out there… Somewhere… There is a sale barn working. It may be an interesting side trip for you. The cows…

Wild Life

Posted on September 14, 2009January 5, 2015

When my friends from New Zealand were here not long ago… it made me re-realize the amount of wildlife we take for granted. I mean, I *know* it… but sometimes you just need people to oooohhh  and aaaahhhhh over the little mule deer doe in the road to remind you! You can retreat to this…

Stacking Up

Posted on September 13, 2009January 5, 2015

I seem to be stacking up on my photographs… I have more old cars… I have wildlife… I have my new project… I have sale barn photos… So, I threw a coin in the air and chose… These! < Do not worry… I am FAR from these storms when I take the pictures… and if…

Photoshop Playday

Posted on September 12, 2009January 5, 2015

Though I had a productive morning on my new little project at the Mills Place… I got caught up in cheering for the Wyoming Cowboys playing the Texas Longhorns… dang if little bitty University of Wyoming didn’t look respectable for the first half! We even led by four points for a few minutes! But football…

Nine Eleven

Posted on September 11, 2009March 25, 2015

Out here… we won’t forget… Though everyday life goes on… we won’t forget… Through high winds and hailstorms… she still flies high… we won’t forget… She’s in the background of all we do… we won’t forget… We’ll teach the young ones… they can’t forget…

Goin’ to Kaycee

Posted on September 10, 2009January 5, 2015

Kaycee, Wyoming is much like Ten Sleep. Small.  (About 300 in population, but with many outlying ranches, like Ten Sleep) One K-12 school. (though theirs is brand new and Ten Sleep School is old) Elevation. (4600′ or so) Mainly a ranching community.  (more impact from oil and gas and coal in Kaycee) Many families from…

Kaycee Challenge Dog Trial

Posted on September 8, 2009January 4, 2015

Now yesterday I admitted my love for my breed of dogs… English Shepherds… but I still admire the working Border Collie. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have driven 2 hours to Kaycee and the sheep dog trials… I didn’t get a program… but let me assure you the contestants and audience came from all over…

My Taste in Dogs

Posted on September 7, 2009January 4, 2015

My taste in dogs doesn’t refer to dogs as menu items… but rather what appeals to me. Well, duh… English Shepherds have the personality I want. Mine are mild mannered, laid back, intelligent, Loyal (with the capital L), and great working partners. Just like my horse… I want a mellow horse that will stand still,…

Posted on September 6, 2009January 3, 2015

Before my eyes slam shut and I lose consciousness… I’ll share my sepia flavored OOPE photos from today’s mountain excursion. My favorite flavor! The plan must be made… the 30 old and open cows… and the 24 heifers… and 1 errant steer… must be loaded onto the semi for the sale on Tuesday. The calves…
