Poster Style

Posted on September 25, 2022

I wanted to share some of my fun little posters I’ve been making lately. I kind of started playing around because we had talked about a new sticker at the library to give to people who donate. I’ve been a fan of the national park posters… or vintage travel posters. These balsamroot flowers weren’t quite…

Cowboying Abilities

Posted on September 24, 2022

See that dark speck in the distance? It’s Brandon zooming back to get a cow I’d missed somehow… she came barreling out of the trees and, luckily, he noticed her. I never saw her! Daniel catches up to us after making an extra big loop looking for cows. I’m so very grateful for my ”boys”…

Still Hay

Posted on September 23, 2022

Haying in September is tricky. Cool nights often bring morning dew. 70-80 degrees feels wonderful but doesn’t dry the hay as fast. Scattered rain is showing up every few days. Raking to speed drying also knocks off the alfalfa leaves. But do we do it? You bet! Lower quality hay is still hay…

#TBT: Ready for Babies, v.2.0

Posted on September 22, 2022

My how time flies! This was first posted September 26, 2011. I had gone to see Quinlan for the first time, gone to a dog clinic, and then went to help Victoria prepare for her twin boys! Home! Home. If I was more like my dogs, I’d be running in circles and yipping! “We’re home!”…

Ucross

Posted on September 17, 2022

Born In A Barn, the fun event I attended yesterday, is located on a country place just outside Sheridan, Wyoming. Now, I’ve been to Sheridan many times, and we usually drive Highway 16 to Buffalo, Wyoming, hit Interstate 90, and fly north to Sheridan. But if I’m driving, I prefer two lane highways to Interstates….

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
