Black and Blue

Posted on October 5, 2010March 28, 2015

The third Lumix camera of the year died today. I’ll hopefully contact Panasonic tomorrow and get some money back.  They’ve been awfully good at replacing it, but I’m tired of cameras that last only three months! So it’s back to my first digital camera… my old 2.1 megapixel Olympus C700… made famous by my OOPE…

Cottonwood’s 50/50

Posted on October 4, 2010February 5, 2015

Thanks so much for everyone’s kind thoughts… I *am* feeling much better today.  I know my friends’ hot tub helped and laying around like a slug probably was good too. I had enough of that by today, though, so I leisurely drove up to the Mills Place and laid more tile. I only have around…

The Best We Could

Posted on October 3, 2010March 28, 2015

Well, I spent another day SITTING.  My back is slightly better… I did sleep through the night… but I am far from healed.  I have moved my computer out to the living room… setting up a table next to the recliner. It’s not the best, I still have to turn slightly to look at the…

Short Segments

Posted on October 2, 2010February 5, 2015

Wow. I honestly thought I’d feel better today, but I don’t. I’m even taking pain meds, which help for a bit… Then some ice. Then some heat. I actually passed on the riding today, something I don’t think I’ve missed since I was pregnant! I’ve mentally trashed my trip to the dog clinic in Cody…

Quick Keeper

Posted on October 1, 2010March 28, 2015

I really can’t sit here for long… My back is KILLING me and it hurts to sit straight up! Our day went OK, with one big story to tell… but I can’t stand to upload them all right now. I apologize, but hope tomorrow might be better and I’ll make you a slide show of…

A Long Two Days

Posted on September 30, 2010January 14, 2015

Heavens. Yesterday we rode and gathered the little Mills pasture. We started at daylight… which actually isn’t TOO early these days… As usual, we rode to the “back” of the pasture and “drove” the cattle in to the neighbor’s corrals. The pond this year almost covers his entryway gate! We weaned those calves. Today we…

Ready to Start All Over Again

Posted on September 28, 2010January 13, 2015

Weighed calves for most of the day today and about overheated. It was in the mid ’80’s, I think, but I swear it felt more like the 90’s! I even got to spend half the day inside actually weighing the calves, but I guess I was still wiped out from yesterday.  Here it is only…

His Job

Posted on September 27, 2010January 15, 2015

The last part of the afternoon, we weighed our weaned calves. They’ve been in the corral, at least this bunch has, going through Mommy-withdrawal.  That expresses itself in bawling for three or four days… and then they are over it.  Before we turn this bunch out on the fields, we weigh them individually. That helps…

Etsy Shop

Posted on September 26, 2010January 13, 2015

The beginnings of my Etsy shop are up! It’s a very slow start, but it IS a start! What? You don’t know Etsy?  Etsy is the online market place for vintage items (older than 20 years) and handmade items.  Since I took the photos, and self published the book, I guess I qualify for “handmade”.  (yes,…

Football

Posted on September 25, 2010January 14, 2015

Football. ‘Tis the season. I’ve loved it a long time… back in the day I cheered for the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. Why? ‘Cause that’s who my parents cheered for. Okies do that. When we ended up in Wyoming… we switched to the Denver Broncos and OU.  On occasion we’d cheer for the…

A-nother Picture of Progress

Posted on September 24, 2010June 14, 2014

I am SOOO amaaaaaazingly sssssssssslow…  It was an entire week ago that I gave you a peek at my bathroom tiling progress. I’m not that much farther…  If I had to pay me by the hour… I’d be mighty mad by now! But progress is progress! Slap those last two tiles on the end wall, insert…
