Until Tomorrow

Posted on May 9, 2013

Yesterday, I got a call as I was heading for work… The Bee Guy was going to be in Ten Sleep and would I like more bees?  You bet!  So I threw in my bee suit and gloves… and waited impatiently for his call.  Finally it came! They were splitting hives… taking out some of…

Posted on May 7, 2013

Town called my name ALL DAY today… So, a bit of yesterday’s tour… A blue billed Ruddy Duck sails by the cattle on Wire Corral Reservoir.  Isn’t he pretty?

Spreading Salt

Posted on May 6, 2013

Vernon requested I take some salt out to the cows today… and to help him out, I did!   Having a chance to drive around, take in the scenery, have an outing with the dogs, and occasionally shove a 50# block of salt off the pickup, sounded like a great deal! It was.

Homemade Greek Yogurt

Posted on May 5, 2013

Yesterday’s entry was about making farmer cheese/mozzarella, but what I really started to make was Greek yogurt! I scanned many a recipe… I wanted one that used raw milk since that’s what I had, but many were made with storebought milk.  Then I found this easy recipe! Again, I cut it in half, just because…

Hors Experiment

Posted on May 4, 2013

Spent the morning getting my last wheel installed on my minitruck… and then the guys aligned the front… which cost Brandon a gash on his forehead when a wrench slipped!  So sorry, Brandon!  But I’m very thrilled!  There’s lots of projects just waiting for that truck! The afternoon was spent experimenting and cleaning up my…

Leeward

Posted on May 2, 2013

It snows. It melts. It snows. It melts. If it ever warms up around here, we’re gonna have good grass and wildflowers! Tomorrow’s supposed to be nice, but I’m headed to Cody for a library training.  Saturday another storm moves in.  Then… Then!  It’s predicted to be nice for a *week*!  That means I better…

All Hands on Deck

Posted on April 29, 2013

It was a full day… feeding Daniel’s baby bulls… (Note the vultures soaking up the morning sun in the cottonwood behind them) Weighing, pouring, and vaccinating the yearling heifers… We weigh them individually to chart their growth, and pour de-wormer on their backs (like you put on tick and flea medicine on your dog) and…

Top 100 Wyoming Bloggers

Posted on April 28, 2013

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before… or at least partially… but I have a big interest in creating a Wyoming Bloggers group.  Why?  Just to help each other share this experience… Share ideas and how-to’s of blogging, along with reaching out to more readers.  Plus, I believe we sit in a fairly unique state.  Wyoming,…
