Wonderful! Nothing like a chance of winning to bring out the entries! Way to go! Let’s get to it! Taylor wrote: I have a couple questions. 1: Where did the name the Badlands come from? 2: I don’t know a lot about dog breeding. Might some of Dally’s puppies be sable, because of Elsa? Or will…

Dying Campfire
My day started early with an ambulance call, so I’m ready for bed! After my return home this morning, the rest of the day seemed very uneventful, and yes, I start to worry about my topic for the evening. Then while I’m doing dishes… I turned on my little tv. I’ve never had a tv…
What Are the Odds?
The guys are happy here… they finally succeeded in getting some farming done. The fields were dry enough to let them get the tractors in without creating ruts or messing up the grass and alfalfa. I did some of my own outside work… that’s why I’ve just taken some Advil! This lawn is not near…

In case you were wondering… for those of you that are new to this blog… and there seem to be a lot of you!… during the first week of each month, I try to have a Q&A session. So, let’s make this coming Thursday the Answer Day this month! Post your Question in the comment…

Therefore, they are Turkeys with a capital T. Especially since Vernon had already repaired the broken fence and got them out…
Wordless Wednesday – “The Weaning Corral”
The remnants of the weaning corral are retired from active use… but still stand with proud dedication and firm belief that it could still do the job again, if asked… **** April 27, 2010 Garden – Potato 101 April 27, 2009 Ponies April 27, 2008 No entry.
My Easter Gift
We’re at that stage… My kids are too old to decorate eggs for Easter… even my pysanky is for me… no one joins in. Their nice Easter baskets sit gathering dust in the basement. I’ve always tried to keep Easter going, laying trails with candy that they’d track down and find some little gift inside……
Done
Well, well… We did it. Four trips to Shaw Pasture with varying amounts of cows and their calves and our yearling steers. It is a LONGLONG trip with baby calves. I puttered around on Google Earth and figured it was 7.5 miles *roughly*. Roughly being the operative term here… baby calves don’t necessarily walk in…
