Skates

Posted on December 21, 2016December 20, 2016

“We’re having a heat wave!  A tropical heat wave!” OK. Not tropical. But it *did* get up to 46˚ today, which felt almost tropical… minus the snow on the ground!  It is rather condensed now… and I suppose it will turn icy soon enough.  It is rather amazing though, how warm 46 can feel! I’m…

Two Guesses

Posted on December 19, 2016December 18, 2016

Yeah, should have made my Wordless Wednesday into a jigsaw puzzle… and forgot. To make up for it, I’ll give you two! It was a whopping -23 this morning, so I stayed inside as much as possible… enjoy the puzzles, everyone.  Stay warm! Junco Winter Storm

Extremes

Posted on December 17, 2016

It was a day of extremes… we have bad weather like much of the nation, it was cold, but not horrid, we have snow, but not a lot.  The roads weren’t great, but passable.  It was something else. I attended a funeral of a Girl Scout boss and inspiration… wearing my pins and scarf to…

Cool

Posted on December 14, 2016December 13, 2016

The wood box is filled. I have everything I need… wool slippers, wool blankets… down blankets… I imagine I will be warm!  I hope you all stay warm out there! The coldest it’s been here lately was -16˚ a few days ago, far from the coldest I’ve seen it.  It’s 10˚ now and falling with…

Occasion

Posted on December 13, 2016December 12, 2016

Enjoy some more wildlife. You know, I think about this… how much wildlife sightings are just the norm for me… oh, there’s deer. and antelope.  wild turkeys.  maybe some sage chickens or chukars or pheasant and ducks and geese… I still get excited over elk!  but, I see so many deer, etc., *every day* that…

Good Thing

Posted on December 12, 2016December 12, 2016

I decided to go out with Vernon and Daniel and check the water in the badlands.  The cows are out there right now, and all of their water tanks must be freed of ice.  All owners that have cattle out there rotate this job, so it makes the work load easier. There also has been…

Someday

Posted on December 11, 2016December 10, 2016

I hate it when I do this… I cannot find my camera ANYWHERE.  How can I DO this?????  Ugh. Pulled out an old one… I’m disgusted at the amount of dust on the interior of the lens… so I didn’t take any photos. The guys worked on a water line… always fun when it’s in…

Online

Posted on December 10, 2016December 9, 2016

We’ve been enduring cold weather here… -16˚ at its worst.  The temperatures that make the snow squeak, chickens stay in their coops, and my dogs lay in the snow comfortably.  I know.  My dogs just LOVE the cold weather!  Strange creatures. My internet has been out since yesterday.  I started and restarted, unplugged and plugged,…
