Irish Blessing

Posted on June 30, 2013

“May God give you… For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.” Irish Blessing

Recommendation

Posted on June 29, 2013

The plan was to gather the heifers.  Even with the 5 am start, I agreed to ride… about a half an hour later, I wised up!  The heifers have spent the past month grazing in a lower pasture.  A pasture where tall grass grows.  The same grass that causes me to wheeze, sneeze, cough, and…

Wildflower Covered

Posted on June 27, 2013October 29, 2014

In the midst of photographing wildflowers… thirty head of elk, including a few calves, watched us from afar… I’m working on a slideshow of my wildflowers… plus a long overdue movie… so ELK ON A WILDFLOWER COVERED HILLSIDE… is all you get!

Thick of Things

Posted on June 25, 2013

Ranch work continues around here… the break for the wedding was short but sweet! Yesterday we sold our steers on the Northern Livestock Video Auction over the internet.  This is PAYDAY… and we were happy. Today we tagged the steers with their Angus Source Genetics eartag.  We could do it at any time, but we…

More Pics

My small part… I hung pine garland on the deck to help block the view of the ski lift and parking lot… and put one on the head table with some wildflowers. I put some extra matching flowers from her bouquet on as a cake topper… Victoria and Cindy, Vernon’s sister,  created wonderful wildflowers centerpieces…

Well, we got it done! I’m thrilled to officially introduce to you… Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Greet! Photo courtesy of David Huber Photography!  I’ve known Dave for years, he’s an ambulance guy AND we’ve stood shoulder to shoulder at plenty of 4th of July Rodeos!  He does great work, which is VERY GOOD, because I…

All Day

Posted on June 20, 2013

Yesterday, the boys and I, and various neighbors, gathered our steers and their cows and calves out of the Badlands Pasture.  You’ll remember a few weeks ago, we rode and gathered most of ours and the neighbors’ from the same pasture and brought them home.  One neighbor, however, left his cattle out there.  With everyone’s…

Coming Atchya

Posted on June 17, 2013

Mow, mow, mow your lawn… and around everywhere else… Plus trim. (Thanks for your help, C.!) A little more yardwork, some housecleaning, a trip to town for groceries and a haircut, and don’t forget, we gather steers on Wednesday! Nothing like having it come atchya from all directions!
