Ukrainian Pysanky

Posted on March 18, 2012October 20, 2014

I hope you got the memo. Pysanky Class tomorrow at the library! Yes, Easter will be here before you know it and you better start melting that beeswax!  There’s nothing like the sweet smell of beeswax to get you in that Easter-ish mood! I had planned to film my vlog answers for you… but the…

Dirt Bag

Posted on March 6, 2012April 3, 2015

So… I found out that you can paint with Red Dirt. I found out I needed to improve my artistry… perhaps profiles would be easier? I really really really wanted, though, to have my three dogs on a canvas bag.  I use canvas bags all the time… or recycled feed bags. 😉 So, I gave…

Red Dirt Medium

Posted on March 5, 2012October 20, 2014

Well, I was going to answer your good wishes one by one, but evidently GoDaddy and I are on different pages at the moment.  To each of you that sent well wishes, thank you!  It is just a head cold… and orange juice and neti pots and hot baths seem to be working… Let’s return…

Bag It 2!

Posted on February 19, 2012April 3, 2015

In Bag It! I showed you how to cut out a feed sack in anticipation of making a fun shopping bag.  Then, I ran into J., who showed me a quicker and easier way instead of what I WAS doing. I’ll show you both ways… and hopefully, you won’t get too confused. Go ahead and…

Only Fair

Posted on February 18, 2012April 3, 2015

I rolled out this morning to help Vernon again. But this time there was a different twist, for it’s my Bountiful Basket morning… meaning our food co-op was delivering.  I had to disappoint my dogs, telling them, “No.  Stay in the yard.” What disappointed looks! I drove my Durango to help feed, then took off…

Bag It!

Posted on February 16, 2012April 3, 2015

To begin your “feed bag”, cut off the bottom seam of your feed sack of choice.  Make sure you’re even with the lettering… stay fairly close to the seam. Create “legs”… leaving the folded edges of your sack alone, just cut up and over, removing a rectangle from the front and back.  Hopefully, the image…

Bag It Up!

Posted on February 14, 2012October 19, 2014

Here’s an easy peasy craft for you… Got a “plastic” bag that your dog food comes in?  (Or chicken feed, horse feed, cow cake, or pig protein?) Maybe you have a big sack of salt for your water softener or potting soil? If it is woven reinforced plastic, not paper, GO GET IT! Here’s mine….

Wool Passion

Posted on December 30, 2011April 1, 2015

Last November… yes, LAST November… as in 2010… I started Vernon’s Christmas present, a wonderful wool saddlepad, instructions shared by my friend, Linda, up in Alberta. I worked on it.  Even started A New Craft Support Group. And A New Craft Support Group Part B. Then spring came… and we remodeled and moved… and did…

Dala or Notdala

Posted on December 5, 2011April 1, 2015

Tonight was the Open House/Silent Auction at the Library. I was in charge of decorating… and true to form… at the last minute, I’ve been trying to finish up some tree decorations for our “Scandinavian” tree. I made dala horses, well, *MY* version of dala horses. They are typically red. Mine are blue. And white….

Cheers!

Posted on November 27, 2011April 1, 2015

Here’s another project. The idea is from a Girl Scout friend of mine.  She keeps all the corks from her wine… and actually makes a *cork* board from them.  I had to ask for donations to get enough corks.  Maybe I should up my wine intake! I’ve planned to do this one a long time,…

Let’s Listen

Posted on November 26, 2011April 1, 2015

It seems like this has become a DIY blog of late… But between cookingbakingcleaning and cleaningbakingcooking, I have had time to play with some ideas that have been simmering for a while! Finally… after almost a year of owning a shadowbox… I managed to create a display for the Antlers Quartet… My grandparents’ original records,…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
