So Amazing!

Posted on June 23, 2013

Well, we got it done! I’m thrilled to officially introduce to you… Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Greet! Photo courtesy of David Huber Photography!  I’ve known Dave for years, he’s an ambulance guy AND we’ve stood shoulder to shoulder at plenty of 4th of July Rodeos!  He does great work, which is VERY GOOD, because I…

Daddy’s Girl

Posted on June 16, 2013

What story should I tell? What memory do I share? Since 1982, he’s been gone. Eight months after my marriage, my father passed away in his sleep… His five year battle with cancer finally over.  It was still a shock.  He’d been doing well, a bit confused the last few days, and if we’d been…

Rare and Wonderful

Posted on May 14, 2013

I’ve been gone a couple of days… back to my hometown of Casper for a funeral.  While sadness prevails, there is a joy in seeing relatives that I haven’t seen in YEARS. There are stories to tell and re-hash, and news of other relatives “lost” through distance and circumstance.  I decided it was somehow strange…

Family Traditions

Posted on May 13, 2013May 12, 2013

Johnny welcomes two of his great grandsons to the branding corral… the other two showed up later and I failed to get them all in a photo together!  Of course, I couldn’t have shared it, but at least I would have HAD one…

Good Boys

Posted on April 27, 2013

The boys are gone, but Victoria and Matt came over to help in whatever way they could… The choice was made to move some more cows out to the BLM allotment. That left Megan and I to watch three little boys… and I let ’em go wherever they wanted! Mud puddle? You bet.  Splash and…

A Grand Adventure

Posted on April 6, 2013

You should have seen it. Three little boys, ball caps listing in various directions, being pulled on a sled around and around the garage by Vernon.  Snow?  They didn’t need any stinking snow!  It fact, it was a rather marvelous day! Giggles abounded. We couldn’t help ourselves!  We adults couldn’t stand the cuteness of the…

In the Lee

Posted on April 5, 2013

We chose to go picnicking last night.  We thought we’d shoot for the burn on the Mesa Pasture… see how it was greening up… but 3/4 of the way there, it was WAY TOO MUDDY.  And just when we had spotted some elk! Mud is good for the Mesa, but bad for picnicking.  It *is*…

New Journeys

Posted on March 31, 2013

I hope you had a wonderful Easter! I hope you enjoyed the simple things… (Quinlan applauds the Easter pinwheel) Or perhaps, discovered something new… (Quinlan chasing soap bubbles) At the very least, I hope you spent time with your family… (Johnny visits with Jaxon, his great grandson) **** As a quick aside… I’d really like…

Philosophical

Posted on March 24, 2013

After working on some photos to see if I could make a new header… and I did!  What do you think?  I somehow got the great idea to update my iPhoto. Photostream is handy… another tweak or two for my photos would be great… newer, better, whatever… Now I can’t get iPhoto to open.  At…

Nobunny

Posted on March 23, 2013October 29, 2014

It’s snowed the past two days… and all that wonderful dirt/mud/tiny green grass that was appearing is now well under 5″ of wet wet snow.  There was more accumulation, but it has condensed! This is great news for the grass that will grow this spring… and the runoff has filled many reservoirs in the badlands…

Bonus

Posted on March 9, 2013

Well… I must say… I’m happy to be able to take walks outside in the mud and ice, just to clear my head from all this… stuff… I’m learning! I even visited the heifers, just to get you some baby calf shots I’ll use in the next few days. I know some of you are…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
