Wand

Posted on September 20, 2021September 20, 2021

This time of year, I don’t accomplish much in the way of crafting. But today was cold and cloudy and it even showered briefly a time or two. It was difficult to keep from pulling out something besides dishes, cooking, and laundry to do! It reminded me that I *had* taken the time to craft…

Finished my Longmire auction donation… If you’re a fan of the Longmire mystery series by Craig Johnson, you should be able to find something either from the book covers or from the stories on this plaque. It is 5”x 5” x 1/4” woodburned with attached hanger. Natural wood, no staining, protected with sealer. My garden…

Summer Crafts

Posted on August 15, 2021August 15, 2021

A little crafting… I generally don’t do much crafting in the summer, it seems like there are other things calling for my attention. However, the wedding yesterday called for a present. Part of it was a set of four stemless wine glasses that I etched with their brand. Their brand is the “quarter circle J…

#TBT: Crane in Grass, v.2.0

Posted on June 17, 2021June 17, 2021

This was first posted June 15, 2010. K, Folks, here it is! My “Crane in Grass” is making its completed debut… I know…DEFINITELY not square, which is easy to see outdoors but in the dark shop on an uneven floor it was more, uh… difficult.  I can eyeball things much better than that! I also…

Fancy Day

Posted on May 1, 2021May 1, 2021

Busy day for certain people beginning with a tea party at the library… We were treated to cucumber sandwiches, Nutella and raspberry sandwiches, and tomato/cheese/watercress sandwiches. Plus cookies and meringues. Oh, and tea! We then did a craft and worked on a puzzle… it was a good time! Later, we celebrated Lorelei’s seventh birthday! I…

Blow Out

Posted on April 30, 2021April 30, 2021

A few weeks ago, when one of our last storms blew through… it literally blew through my studio. It blew one of my old windows out. I went inside, expecting to find glass shattered everywhere. Luckily, the pane of glass landed just right on the couch below and was still in one piece. What are…

A New Life

Posted on April 24, 2021April 24, 2021

Last year, a friend passed along a cute little old stool… wooden top, metal legs… beat up, scarred, bent just a little out of shape. I saw something though… and piled it on top of my “to-do” craft pile. The burn marks, the scratches, the old metal… I sanded the top lightly, leaving the major…

Big Project

Posted on April 9, 2021April 9, 2021

I don’t know if this is the time of year to be starting this… cow work will soon consume much of our time… but with the weather warming up, I can work on this out in the shop without freezing to death! Megan has asked me to wood burn her dining table! Initially, we discussed…

Pysanky Class

Posted on March 30, 2021March 30, 2021

I taught a pysanky class at the Ten Sleep Library last night, came home and went to bed… laid there and thought, “I didn’t blog!”. I was too tired, so here I am this morning. A live video can be found on the Ten Sleep Library Facebook page if you’re so inclined.

What do ranchers do in their spare time? Craft! I know I’ve shared some of these, but I made a video of all my latest…
